Second steep, I’m getting more ginger. A welcome change.

I think I got a bad batch of this one. I went to the store, smelled the sampler sniff test thing, and immediately got a bag (sealed, of course). Brought it home and opened it – holy jeebus it’s BAD. Chemical, like nail polish remover and fake fruit body spray. I’m so disappointed….
Cut to today. I pull out my little sampler bag of sachets in my bag, and Forever Flawless is in there. It’s the only one with caffeine, so I gulp and rip it open. It smells good! Melon-y, and softly herbal in the way a really fancy salon smells. Maybe the sea buckthorn? Brewed it up and drinking it now – it tastes like perfume. Nice perfume, classy perfume, but perfume all the same. Sigh.
Giving this a low score because I can’t in good conscience recommend this when there are bags floating around that could kill you on first sniff. But if you do decide to try it, cross your fingers and hope for the good stuff?

A sachet of this came in the sampler bag I ordered, so I thought why not try it tonight? My first cup was….well honestly it was freaking delicious. I am so into all of DTs coconut teas, guys. The caramel adds the perfect kind of sweetness. The second cup was less delicious however – more of the apple-ness came out and it took on that sort of minerally flavor DTs apple blends seem to turn into, almost like the water isn’t filtered? (which mine always is) Still, I love that this is a non-traditional “sleepy time” tea without the usual villains like lavender or rose. I’m not sure if this is LE but I have sleeping problems that usually only medication works on, and this definitely helped. I think I’m going to grab a huge tin to always have on hand.

BANANA love banana give me all of the banana banana banana. This is my first banana tea, and I was a little skeptical how the flavor would translate just by sitting it in some hot water, essentially. With 52teas, I should have known I’d be in good hands. The dry sniff is so delightful – my lovely banana with just the perfect hit of coconut and the slight note of malty black tea in the background. I’m really picky with my blacks, but this is a great base for the other flavors. Just a really delicious well-rounded tea.
I immediately went to order more and it’s GONE! :( If I’m going to be a 52teas customer for life, I’m going to have to get used to the pain of losing the LEs….

Sipdown – the end of this was all sugar and finely crushed coconut, but dang did it make a delicious cup. I’ve fallen more in love with this as I made it through the 1 oz bag, to the point that I think I’m going to pick up a bigger one next time I’m in the store. Not my healthiest tea, but great to drink all day until those oolong leaves are spent.

THIS SMELLS SO GOOD. It has that amazing bready quality like real french toast and a little syrup. The taste is weaker than the smell though. The coconut is in there but not overwhelming, and that hit of cardamom…(which – in the pods? out of the pods? what’s the consensus?). I only have a little tester bag and I think I used too much this time :( but it’s so delicious I can’t be that mad at it. I need more….soon….
I’m not usually one for black teas unless they’re smack-your-mama sort of chais, but wowzers. Unfortunately I’m drinking this at work, otherwise I’d add a little soy milk. Mmmmm.

drank Gaba Guava by DAVIDsTEA

A wild combination of hormones and hangover was completely murdering my morning, and I couldn’t stand the thought of my usual morning cup of Jasmine Creme Brulee. Citrus sounded good. I went for my tin of Sweet Lime and grabbed this instead. Perfect! I need mental acuity and focus! Give it to me!
At first sip it’s very sweet, but fruit-sweet, not sugar-sweet. It has a slight bubblegum scent. Guava is the main note, and then pineapple. Really delicious! I have no idea if the “GABA” part makes any difference – I do feel better though (some of that might be because of the matcha I had too). I’m excited to find a fruity tea to drink hot in the summer, and if it helps my crazy brain focus, all the better!

Stomach ache today so ginger it is. This is pleasant, but not SUPER GINGER. It’s warm and toasty and the stevia probably chills the ginger and pepper out a bit, but I sort of wanted my throat to burn! Oh well. This is a delicious ginger tea, but not SUPER GINGER. Just medium-large ginger.

drank Just Peachy by DAVIDsTEA

My favorite iced tea I’ve tried yet – just unsweetened peachy goodness. I do wish it was stronger: I cold-steeped for 24 hours and it’s fine. Next time I guess I’m throwing half the tin in. Will drink heaps and heaps of this!

Flavors: Peach

Preparation
Iced 8 min or more
