Meh. I don’t know if its my taste buds or this tea is not flavorful enough for me. I cannot taste lemongrass at all. As it cools I find coconut and some faint ginger. Smell is coconut. Very weak. I tried to sweeten it w/ sugar. then added some milk . just didnt work for me. This was a free sample with the purchase

A million more thank-you’s to ScottTeaMan for this wonderfully delightful Bangkok Blend, and plenty of it to enjoy! I had this on one previous occasion and had been dying for another taste of it.

The subtle coconut melds so nicely with the verdant grassy green tea. (I fear I need to expand my diction and descriptors when talking about green tea, they’re all the same..)

This was the perfect accompaniment to the first day of spring yesterday, and the pleasing weather that it brought with it.

So, I had the rest of my Singapore Cashew Curry today, and thought this would be a nice tea to have with it. I’ve been sort of holding off on it til I had the right meal to have it with. The tea smells nice and spicy, so I thought it would match well. And it did. But it isn’t my favourite green tea. I’ll happily have the rest of the sample Jenn sent me, as it is good, but I just don’t love it.

Today I gave this tea to two friends – one who only drinks green and white teas, the other who doesn’t like green teas. They BOTH really liked this tea, and both said it had a lot of flavor with coconut being the most prominent. We had it hot, but I plan to try it iced as well. It has enough body and flavor to hold up to ice well, probably without sweetener – even for me! I am not a huge fan of greens, but this one is quite good.

I am unsure…When I first opened the bag and took a sniff the only thing I could think of was dishsoap. To be fair, I was washing dishes while I was waiting for the water to heat up. The dry tea smelled very strong of sweet lemongrass and for some reason this made me think of soap.
The brewed tea is a bright yellow-green colour. You can smell strong lemon grass and coconut. The teas tastes strongly of coconut with hints of lemongrass. I do not smell or taste any ginger. The green tea base is very faint. I am unsure of the taste. Again it keeps reminding me of soap for some reason. I must has used a similar scented soap product at some point in time. To be fair to the taste of the tea, I am not a huge coconut fan. Now I love fresh coconut and coconut milk (ie. buying a coconut and cracking it at home). But for some reason I do not like any other coconut, I don’t like pre-shredded coconut, coconut water from a can, coconut flavouring, etc.- its just not the same as a real coconut).
The taste is not bad. It does not taste soapy, it just reminds me of soap, so that is turning me off of this tea. The strong coconut flavour is also not helping.
The tea leaves a clean, fresh, aftertaste.
I think I will have to leave this tea and come back to it later on and see what happens.

Following on from yesterdays bad Rooibos experiences – that had me watering plants via a teacup – I decided to experiment once again with H&S’s Bangkok .. And a good thing too as I’ve found a very satisfying way of brewing/drinking this ..

Firstly it needs a nice long steep to really allow each of the flavours (Coconut, Lemongrass, & Ginger, oh and I guess Green Tea!) to thoroughly emerge, and also results in a gorgeous buttercup yellow liquid .. Then mixed with a little raw sugar, and put into the fridge to cool off ..

If you find drinking it hot too similar to drinking a curry, then try sweetened and chilled .. It still maintains all that unusual buttery coconut, warm spicy aroma & taste, but is more like sipping an unusual (healthy) cocktail syrup ..

This tea is decent but it kind of has an artificial flavor to it. Maybe this is the fault of the packaging from the distributor I bought it from (Breckenridge spice merchants). It’s very lemongrass-y and I can taste some coconut but I don’t taste ginger at all.

I loved the coconut in this tea! I could kind of notice the lemongrass, ginger, and vanilla, but not as much. I was also really impressed with how it looked; it was a brilliant green in the bag and in the cup. Two thumbs up!

The coconut leaves a nice film that is actually really moisturizing to your lips. I did not think the coconut flavor would be so intense becuase I could not see any flakes or chunks in the tea. Lemoongrass can at times be very overpowering. It seems like the amount of Lemongras added is perfect. Very light on the LGrass as to just leave a hint of smell and even less taste.

This was surprisingly strong. I didn’t expect the flavours to come out nearly as much as they did so I was pleasantly surprised. The ginger and lemongrass lingered nicely. It’s quite smooth and creamy, which will be the coconut. Being a coconut lover I wish it came out to play more, but a lovely drop all the same.
