TTB #4

This smells delicious- sweet semi-realistic strawberry. Despite the sweetness of the aroma, I still added a sugar cube, as I was suspicious of how the flavor would translate.

Unfortunately, my suspicions were correct- this doesn’t taste nearly as good as it smells. Even the sugar couldn’t help temper the astringency. The strawberry flavor is barely noticeable.

I enjoy rose blends, and decided to give this a try (I probably never would have tried this if not for the TTB)
It is indeed sweet, like a sweet rose perfume. Luckily it didn’t taste strongly of stevia over the intensity of the rose.

The stevia is what stops me from buying this one! Whyyyyyyyyy???

I hate stevia so much. Not sure why brands insist on putting it in blends.

I wish it wasn’t the go-to sweetener for so many tea brands.

TTB Tea 2

I can’t resist a straight black tea.

This one is fine, but doesn’t really stand out. It’s a bit malty, some starchy sweet potato.

First tea from the TTB.

I was excited to see this, as it had been on my list of brands/blends to try for awhile.

Delicious! Creamy vanilla and hazelnut. I added a sugar cube, which tempered the tiny bit of astringency. Really enjoyed this, looking forward to trying it as a latte.

These were displayed on the checkout counter at Paru, and I couldn’t help sniffing the sample as I checked out. Immediately had to purchase, based solely on the smell. These little coins smell like caramel- so delicious!

I steeped one up today, and the flavor does not disappoint. Tastes like caramel!

Flavors: Caramel, Caramelized Sugar

How do you like Paru in general? I’ve only ever had one tea from them, recently, and loved it, and am trying to decide whether they should go on my shopping list.

This was actually my first experience with Paru, as I was holding off on buying anything until I could visit in person.

I recently drove down to San Diego for a concert, and had to finally make a stop at Paru! Decided on their La Jolla location, as they carry house-milled matcha. Decided to try out a cup to go vs. buying some to take home.
Went with iced/no sweetener. It was lovely! definitely fresh tasting, with some notes of cacao. Overall a delicious matcha, and it was so fun to be able to watch the mill working behind the counter.

The best part of the experience was how incredibly nice everyone at Paru was. So, so nice and welcoming. Highly recommend visiting if you’re ever in the San Diego area.

A bit underwhelmed by this. The cherry/almond aroma of the dry leaf is lovely. The flavor is a bit lacking.

I have been making Cherry Almond by Stash for Ashman to carry to work as his lunchtime cold sweet tea.

I’m not tasting any honey. It’s just coming across as a brisk black tea. Meh.

Drank through this sample packet pretty quickly. It’s a lovely, straightforward vanilla blend.

This sounds delightful. I love Keemun and vanilla, the combo would be awesome.

This cup was lacking in the strawberry. But, it was still an enjoyable, creamy black tea.

Hello! I live in Los Angeles with my boyfriend and 3 cats [+however many foster cats I have at the moment]. I’m also obsessed with all things spooky.

I became obsessed with the world of tea through DavidsTea years ago. I love to try new brands, so I’m constantly on the look out for new-to-me companies.

Favorite Brands:
Whispering Pines
The Necessiteas
August Uncommon
Jolie Tea Co.

Favorite flavors:
Sweet Potato

Red Rooibos

Though, I’ll taste anything once!

I mainly brew western style.I like my tea extremely strong, so I tend to use wayyyyy more dry leaf than suggested.
