27 Tasting Notes

I’m trying to do my own sip down, so I’m not opening up any new tea flavors until I get rid of this one. I’m enjoying it, but it’s not as sour as I thought it may be. I steeped it at about 7 minutes this time, and liked the flavor, it wasn’t too bitter. As soon as I poured my cup, I added more water for a second steep and forgot about it overnight. It didn’t get bitter, so I enjoyed the cup of it this morning ;)

This was my first tea I have tried from Adagio – I spent so long looking at the custom blends, haha, it sucked me in. I kept seeing sour apple being listed in the blends, so I decided to make it my first purchase. It came in the mail today, and I instantly put the kettle on so I could try it. I followed the directions, and it wasnt strong enough after five minutes, so I added another two minutes, and I thought it might bring out the flavor if I added a packet of monk fruit with it, which it improved it a lot! I ate pickles while it was steeping, so I kind of ruined my palate, since I taste garlic and apples, LOL. I definitely taste the apple, but I dont think I would call it sour – more fruity than tart? But good! Just dont expect the sourness if you order this. I hope it has a good second steep, I would love a second cup of this!

Yup, I still don’t like this one – I had it this morning with my eggs – I don’t like the sweetener they use, if they took out the stevia, is it, maybe? I feel like I would like it a whole lot better. Maybe it’s sucralose? Whatever it is, I’m definitely not a fan, it has an aftertaste that lingers. Bummer. I love Red Rose black teas, though – not a diss against the whole line! Don’t get me wrong!

Thanks for the review! And I just looked it up. According to their website they use Stevia (Reb A). For the life of me I don’t understand why they use Reb A verses the less bitter Reb M or Reb D extracts from Stevia. It’s a bit more expensive but why they’d introduce a bitter agent to a tea is beyond me. Or just leave it unsweetened and give us the option to sweeeten it on our own.

This was one of the few teas I have tried that I was not a fan of. There is an aftertaste that I did not like – I found out why, after I read the box – it contains stevia, which I do not like. The flavor sounded so promising! It would have been so much more pleasant if they didnt add stevia.

I don’t mind stevia specifically but I hate it when teas are pre-sweetened! :P

I bought this while grocery shopping, and it was on an endcap. I had never seen lavender tea before, and was nervous to try it, not sure if it sounded good or gross – I ended up buying another box once I tried it – it ended up being one of mine and my roommates favorite tea to wind down with on the couch and watch girly television. Christmas in Paris opened up a whole new window of trying lavender teas and getting excited when I see them!

Thanks for this review. I ordered a few boxes based on your review and we’ve really been enjoying it. I’m planning on sending out a few samples to friends.

I wish this tea was not discontinued – I bought this tea because I saw it contained wintergreen, which I have never seen in any teas I have ever read the ingredients on. I really liked it over the Christmas season, I am disappointed I only have two bags left, since I cannot find wintergreen tea anywhere else out there.

Flavors: Mint, Peppermint, Spearmint

Wintergreen is out there, usually sold as the crushed herb and I’ve seen it in teabags online. I recently bought online a bag of whole wintergreen leaves from the Canadian company Camellia Sinensis. While their selection of teas and tisanes is expensive, they are a reputable vendor so I trust the freshness of their teas.

I bought this from the Dollar Tree, cause the name sounded fabulous – I had my first cup, and it smelled fabulous – I love Ceylon tea. I brewed it for the max recommended time and felt like it needed a teaspoon of sugar – I normally dont sweeten my teas with anything, but once I added the sugar, it was soooooo good. I went and looked online, and they dont show up on the TEViVe website, so I guess they were discontinued. I went and looked at the other Dollar Tree in town – they had eight boxes left, so I bought five more – this is definitely one of my regular teas.

I just joined, and figured I would introduce myself! I am Devon, 42. I travel a ton for work and for fun, and I always collect a box of tea from every city that I visit. I do not consider myself a tea snob, so to speak, as I will buy teas from specialty shops, as well as tea bags from stores that are not sold in my hometown of Wilmington, NC, USA. I am a diabetic, and am so glad I can still enjoy the fruity and bakery flavors of tea without damaging my organs, haha!
I am looking to join an advent calendar and a traveling tea box on here! I have over 50 teas so share. I am always up for a Facebook Messenger or Zoom tea date!
I am always on the hunt for individual tea cups and saucers at garage sales, flea markets, and antique store – I must be picky, cause it took me four years to get enough to host my own tea party – tea just seems to taste better when you are drinking it from a fancy cup!
I have not found many green and white teas that I have liked, but I am open to trying suggestions if they are flavored. I love black, herbal, fruity (except peach, mango and lychee), bakery, holiday, Oolong, Ceylon, and Rooibos teas! I do not like ginger or anise/licorice flavors. Say hi! I am a friend you have not met yet!
