When I have logged out, the next time I try to log in, Chrome fills in my username and password automatically, but if I click the log-in button, Steepster seems to believe those two fields are empty. I have to actually type the information myself, even though it should already be entered correctly. I don’t know if this is really a Chrome issue rather than a Steepster one, but I don’t recall having seen it happen with other sites so I figured I would mention it.

Same for me.

Uniquity said

Ditto. I also use Chrome on my phone and computers and have had this.

Josie Jade said

Same for me, and I use Safari.

Jason select said

Good to know. Adding that to the list.

The day before yesterday I went back to teas that I’d already did tasting notes for and added the number ratings to them. Yesterday those number ratings didn’t show up. I’m not able to add the number ratings today, either. No matter if I click “Edit” on the tasting note and change the sliding scale for the rating there, or go to “Tea Ratings” and enter them there, once I close out and go back it’s not saving them.

Lala said

I just came here to post the same thing. I did a review on my iPad, then later signed in on a computer to put the rating. It showed the rating as saved, but when I go back to look at it in my tealog or dashboard, there is no rating.

Josie Jade said

I have to do the exact same thing, Lala, as far as using my iPad to write my note and then getting my laptop out to enter in a bunch of ratings at once. I’m sure it drives everyone crazy because I know it re-publishes my tasting notes all over again. I really really really wish the sliding scale ratings thing worked on iPads/smart phones!!

Dinosara said

It doesn’t slide, but you can touch the slider bars in the area where you want the rating and it will move the marker to that point. Since the rating slider is fairly inaccurate anyway when it comes to exact numbers, I find it does ok, especially if I zoom way in on the iPad first. I also do this for the time/temp sliders, with pretty decent accuracy (since you can see the numbers you select there). Also, if you touch somewhere and decide you want to move up the slider just a bit, it won’t necessarily let you select an area very near the area its already sitting. In that case I then select an area far away, then reselect where I want. It takes some getting used to, but it is possible.

Josie Jade said

Oh wow, I didn’t know that! I am definitely going to try this! I have had bad luck with tea (of course) being spilled all over my past two laptops, so I try to use my iPad whenever possible and keep my laptop in a tea-free area. :)

Uniquity said

On my Galaxy I am able to tap and select a rating but you are correct that the slide doesn’t work. I HATE typing notes on it but I like that I can select a rating! :)

Jason select said

Josie and Lala, what pages are you not seeing the ratings on? Dashboard? Tea page? Tasting note page? All pages? Our thinking is that the rating is just not showing up in certain places, but is still attached to your tasting note. Any other info to help narrow this down is great.

Lala said

Jason- it is not showing up on my dashboard or my tealog. What happened to me was I wrote and saved the review. Then later went into the tealog and edited it, adding the rating. When I saved it, it showed the rating on the tealog. However, when I left the page and then came back to either the dashboard or tealog, it did not show any rating.

Uniquity said

Lala, I see ratings on some of your notes and not others. Wanted to help confirm whether the rating stuck or not, but I guess I didn’t help at all! :)

Lala said

All of my teas should have ratings, as far as I can remember anyway.

Uniquity said

Ok. I see no rating on your recent post on Orange Matcha but there is one on Coconut Grove and Organic Superfine etc etc. None on Momoko or Divine Cream.

Dunno if that matches up to what you see, but those are your most recent notes when I go to your profile.

Lala said

Thanks Uniquity. I just noticed all of those. There are a few more too. I know for sure most of those were rated, so I am wondering if this is something that has been going on for a while and I never noticed. Some of the steep time and temps are missing as well.

Jason select said

Hmm, we’ll have to keep looking into this.

Lala said

My ratings system seems to be working now, I can make edits and updates and they are showing up appropriately.

I don’t know if this is already a known issue, but when viewing other’s previous notes if they have posted multiple notes on one tea they are hidden by a Show x more button. Clicking this button no longer shows the notes and instead brings me to the top of the page.

Anna said

I don’t have this problem in FF. I have this problem in Chrome.

Jason select said

On the tea page? Not seeing this now but let us know if you’re still seeing it.

Anna said

I still get it in Chrome – get bumped to the top of the page, that is. Try this link, JacquelineM’s notes: http://steepster.com/teas/the-simple-leaf/7071-mountain-malt

Uniquity said

I am using Chrome and it didn’t bump me to the top, just displayed the other notes as usual. Weird!

Jason select said

Weird, it works fine for me i chrome, but we’ll keep checking.

Anna said

It happens in Chrome when I’m not logged in, but not when I’m logged in. (Again, that might be how it’s supposed to be.)

Jason select said

Good spot! We’ll take a look.

Also the sorting by “recently rated” on the Tea Ratings page doesn’t seem to actually sort by recently rated, because I certainly have teas in there that I rated a long time ago and they are popping to the top of the list.

Added to the list.

My dashboard is showing tasting notes of some of the people I am following but not all. For instance, I don’t seem to ever see any of Incendiare’s or MissLena’s posts, and I missed one by Terri HarpLady earlier today (but I have had others of hers come through). The dashboard isn’t frozen and some notes are coming through, just not everyone I’m following.

Agreed with this, I can’t even see my own note, but some people must be able to, or are on explore, because there’s a like. And some of my notes show up and others never do, so I don’t know if it’s maybe the tea company page itself that is glitching or random. I’m also missing seeing notes from other people as well.

Jason select said

If you refresh the page do the tasting notes show up that you expect?

Uniquity said

I am definitely missing tasting notes on my dashboard as well. Either that or very few people are doing notes at the mo which is always possible I s’pose.

Dinosara said

Nope, refresh doesn’t seem to matter, nor any passage of time. Some of them just never show up.

Dinosara said

Well, my dashboard is kind of crazy right now, showing all kinds of old notes as well as a few new ones, and I don’t think they are a result of everyone editing old notes. There is one of mine in there from a day ago that I haven’t touched, but it is appearing and now the ones I wrote earlier today are not, including that Raspberry Macaron one that has all the comments about ratings.

Uniquity said

Well. I edited my previous post to show what I meant and it seemed to take but looking at it on another computer I don’t see it. My exmaple was Dinosara – I don’t see the tasting note on my dashboard but I can see it on her (his?) profile. (http://steepster.com/dinosara/posts/184802)

Jason select said

Yea, I’m seeing this now too. Looking into it. But any other info/insights you guys have a appreciated.

Dinosara said

Yeah, I can’t quite make rhyme or reason of whose appear and whose don’t. That one that uniquity linked to is the first one I have had in the last few days that didn’t show up on my dashboard, but I’m not sure why because there was nothing different about it than my others. I guess the only difference was that I took it out of my cupboard before writing a tasting note on it.

K S said

Same issue – no rhyme nor reason to what is showing up. I have been using explore to try and stay current. My own were only showing up half the time when I posted earlier.

Yeah, mine is being weird too. At first, I thought it was skipping every other load/page. But now I’m not sure. There seem to be missing posts in the middle of a load/page as well. It does seem to be making large skips of posts. That is, it’ll be missing a chunk of posts then be fine for a bunch then missing another chunk.

ETA: Yeah, I did like 6-7 See More page loads then skimmed and hovered over the numbers chronologically. It’ll load a bunch of posts in a row then be missing like 40-100+ chunks numerically. It’s happening in the middle of pages/loads as well as where the pages/loads join.

Already mentioned it, but if clicking the notification on your dashboard could you bring you right to the specific event again it would be easier to keep up with this thread! :)

Jason select said

Yep, planning to bring that back.

I am not able to view the teas in my cupboard yet. I saw that other folks had this problem and it sounds like theirs are working now, but I have been unable to view still. I tried logging out and adding them back, but no luck. It shows a number of teas there, but nothing when I select it to view. The reviews, shopping list, etc. seem to be working though. Thanks for all of your hard work on updating this site!

Jason select said

On your dashboard you can see the number of teas in your cupboard, right? But when you go to the actual cupboard link you don’t see any teas?

Login or sign up to post a message.

Yes, that’s exactly it. It shows the number in the cupboard, but when I click on it to view, the message says, “There aren’t any teas in Nightshifter’s Cupboard yet.”

Thank you!

Oops, sorry- I meant to reply to the original message. Thanks!

Jason select said

Ah, no worries. We’ll take a look at this. How many teas does it say you have in your cupboard?

It shows 14 as of this moment, which sounds right. Thank you!

Jason select said

Can you take another look? Just pushed out an update that might be related to your issue.

You fixed it- thanks so much!

We’re now receiving notifications for every answer in a discussion instead of the branch we participated at. This is very annoying. I don’t want to be “subscribed” for the whole topic. I think that the only one who should get auto-subscribed to all answers is a topic starter, not the ones replying

Jason select said

Yeah, that’s how it’s supposed to work (only getting notifications to the conversation “branches” you’re participating in, not all posts) but that’s buggy now. Got that on the list though.

Zeks said

the problem is – unsubscribing doesn’t work also. Sure- I don’t get emails, but I still het a lot of notifications on my dashboard even though I definitely unsubscribed

Jason select said

Yep, I’m referring to dashboard notifications too.

So this just popped up this evening, but now when I click the “X minutes ago” link on the discussion page instead of taking me to the comment it just takes me to the top of the last page of the topic (or maybe the top of the page that the comment is on). It was working normally for me earlier.

Regarding Discussion pages, I noticed on the “Traveling Tea Box A” group that no matter which page number I click for that discussion, it takes me back to the top of the first page.

Jason select said

Ok, adding that to the list.
