Bug Reports for Sunday 7/21 Update

Until a week or two back I hadn’t been around here for a while, so I’m assuming my problem is due to the update.

I can’t log in with my saved log-in data. I get the messages ‘username/email/password required’, so it seems that though I can see the info in the boxes Steepster can’t. I clear the boxes and key in the info manually and I can log in.

I’m having the problem on both Chrome and Firefox. On Chrome I tried going into advanced settings, removing the Steepster log-in info, logging back into Steepster by hand and re-saving the info when prompted, but it didn’t make any difference – the problem was still there with the newly-saved info.

Yea, that was messed up during the update. That one’s on our list.

I’m having a lot of trouble on the site today. Not sure what’s causing it, but it’s been going on for hours. Lots of various issues are creeping up that were previously fixed, such as:

-Site not recognizing I’m logged in
-Being able to like my own tasting notes
-Receiving notices when someone posts after me in a discussion even though I’m not subscribed to it (and I don’t mean replying to my post. I mean posting after I have posted. I’ll get a notice for that.)
-Getting the kettle A LOT
-Trouble loading pages
-Trouble adding/removing teas from my cupboard
-Trouble with site accepting my new notes and/or comments; often have to submit several times before it takes

Ditto to CHAroma and Nicole. Trouble started yesterday.

Not surprised about the kettle…are the other things still happening? If there’s a silver lining to this it’s that we’re in active development. We’re adding things/building new features, so it will get better. These specific bugs might take some time but we’ll hopefully get to them shortly.

Same as CHAroma, since Sunday evening. Troubles with Likes “sticking” ever since update.

Ditto with CHArom and Nicole. I had issues with tea not showing as in my cupboard on the tea page, taking multiple tries to add new tea notes (the page gets stuck either opening the new note window, or saving the note), getting the kettle page, etc.

Solution Found!
Problem: Out-of-place menus & navigation issues

Just recently, it apparently has become necessary to press the “Compatibility View” button with IE-10 to be able to properly navigate Steepster, even though this wasn’t previously necessary. (I’ve been a member since Jan., 2013.)

The IE-10 “Compatibility View” button is found in the navigation bar, immediately to the left of the “Refresh” button.

I’ve been having an issue from about 7 CST last night and continuing today where I can’t comment at all on my tasting notes.

Currently, I cannot consistently comment on other members tasting notes, even if I click on “Compatibility View”.

Just bumping this…hoping for an update on the email fix (new messages should go to the first page) and recently steepster is now subscribing me automatically to every thread I reply to.

Are you still getting auto subscribed to each discussion thread? Even with the checkbox above the reply box unchecked?

I don’t think this is a bug, but I deleted a message that I sent and now I can’t read the response. Is there a way to access the new message?

Hmm, not sure about that one. May be gone…but we’ll have to check. We also have a lot of bugs to clean out with the messaging which will hopefully make that whole experience a lot more enjoyable.
