Haha, most of the reviews suggest this tastes like those Japanese Muscat Grape Gummies and it really does taste like that. It certainly smells like them, and in taste it’s a little more mild. This was an interesting and fun choice, the kind staff member at Lupicia hooked me up with a free sample when I was buying a bunch of other stuff. It was good, I’ll probably buy some more next time I am there. The cool thing is that this is Decaf, and I need some more tasty decaf options for the evenings. Fun tea, and would definitely get some more.

Ashmanra sent me a little sample sachet of grapey goodness! Grape gummies seem to be the most frequent reference in other reviews and indeed, it’s got a sweet little personality. If you took a sweet red table grape and crossed it with a cotton candy grape, you’d have the beginnings of a vineyard full of what this tastes like. Being a decaf base, it’s a little milder than its counterpart (Jingle Bells, right?) but unless you tasted them side by side you wouldn’t know there’s a difference.

Perfect for toasting the end of a summer school box operation that reminded me of an Amazon Hub on steroids. (Normally, I sit at a desk. I’m getting too old to be a pack mule ;)

Happy weekend to you all.

I think there is a regular Muscat Black Tea that is available year ‘round and Jingle Bells is Muscat with a little pizzazz added. Mainly white wine flavor if I remember correctly. So glad you liked it!

TeaTiff Traveling Tea Box | No. 5

I didn’t remember until just now that I actually have the caffeinated version of Muscat in my tea cabinet. After trying the Decaf Muscat, I went to add the regular version to my wishlist and noticed that it’s already there. How exciting to find a tea I’d forgotten I already have! Back to the decaf version. This smells incredibly good right out of the package, like grape hard candies. The flavor isn’t as strong as I’d like, so I’m looking forward to comparing it to the regular version.

A sad sipdown. This will be on my next Lupicia order.

Grapey goodness and caffeine free, so good with night time sweets and treats. I haven’t even tried it sweet and iced but I bet it would be delectable.

Gotta hit some sipdowns so I can get more.

Courtney

Well now I’ve had to add this to my wishlist :P

ashmanra

It is very similar to Jingle Bells if you have had that one!

Cameron B.

I have the caffeinated version of this somewhere and I should really drink it! :P

Similar to the normal muscat version just a little muted – not bad. I like how a lot of Lupicia teas remind me of Japanese bubble gum.

Try this as a hot latte. One of the best cups I’ve had this week.

Autistic Goblin

I had to look up Muscatel it’s not something I usually see.

Arby

I had to as well when I got into Indian teas a bit more. Terms like muscatel, round, and malty aren’t words you hear often outside of teas.

I’m going to repeat what another reviewer said. These really do smell like the gummy candy. That was the first time I smelled muscat, though the juice smells like this as well. Most of the grapes that are sold locally here, if they’re not the seedless grapes, are scuppernong. They smell similar enough, but this tea smells most like the candy, which are addictive in and of themselves. I was surprised by the smell. Sadly, I over steeped the tea and it was bitter. :( I would consider trying it again, but I tried it from a TTB and there’s only one of two bags left, so I should probably leave it. I don’t know if I would buy this tea, but Lupicia is on my list.
I’m not going to put a number because I brewed it too long. I’m sure it’s better when its brewed right.

I’m not a big fan of this tea, but since Lupicia’s Muscat tea seems to be so popular, I thought I’d try it. The dry leaf smell is really strong and sweet-it totally smells like candy which I like :P But as for the flavor…it seriously tasted like medicine.
That gross flavored medicine you’d drink as a kid when you were sick. They’d always try and make taking it better by adding artificial flavoring, but it’s just…no. Just doesn’t work. xD
So this tea totally reminds me of that. not a fan! :(

I’m purposely not rating this tea for two reasons: 1) I’ve never had a decaf tea, and 2) I’ve never had the regular muscat tea from Lupicia or any of their grape-flavored teas.

With that being said, I rather liked this and I’m grateful to TeaBrat for sending it. The grape taste was not too cloying or jolly-rancherish. It was more like the flavor you get in Japanese candies. Light and just gently sweet. It definitely makes me want to try more of Lupicia’s grape-flavored teas. Anyone tried any of their other grape-flavored teas?

I definitely recommend the Muscat Oolong! It’s great from the first sip and resteeps well.

The Cookie Lady

Oooo great! I’ll be sure to get some of that next time I’m at Lupicia. I almost got some last time but was afraid it was going to go the route of jolly ranchers. Thanks for the tip!

TeaBrat

The Budou green tea is pretty good if you like grape flavored things.

The Cookie Lady

Good to know! I had considered that one too when I was at the store last time.

Lupicia teas always smell amazing, both in sachet (or loose) or brewed up in the cup. This smells just like sweet green grapes.
It looses a bit of the grape-ness when tasted, but its a light and sweet tea, and I really like it. There is a faint taste of wine to it (which I suppose is technically grape), but not in a boozy way. Its very pleasant, and I’m glad to have had it!
