drank Chai Matcha by DAVIDsTEA
2955 tasting notes

Found this on sale and bought 50g for an absurdly low price (under $5 for 50g). So my order came today (along with four pouches of toasted walnut, the tea I was so scared I wouldn’t be able to get more of since it was retired).

I brewed 2 tsp in a mug of cold soy milk and this made for an excellent sweet and creamy cold drink. You mostly taste sweet and very flavourful creamy soy milk and almost no green tea. No bitterness either. One of the best matchas I’ve tasted because it isn’t bitter and it is very flavourful.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Citrus, Ginger, Nutty, Spicy, Sweet

Preparation
Iced

Toasted walnut is so great. I was sad to hear it’s leaving.

Maybe I should have picked up some chai matcha! I decided not to, since I didn’t want to be stuck with 50g of something I wasn’t sure of.

Re: Toasted Walnut – I believe there are similar alternatives available from other companies, so you might be able to find a replacement once it’s gone. Also, watch out because the walnuts go rancid (I don’t remember offhand if there’s also coconut.)

I’m on “order hiatus” but had to make a similar panic order for Movie Night. _;; And it’s even worse for me because I’m going through a move right now and in the process of packing up my teas! Tea companies, why you do dis?

Oh man, I’d love to stock up on some of that Coconut Cream Pie before I lose it forever. :/

Bio

I am a biochem major hoping for a career in research genetics and evolutionary biology. I love science fiction and spend too much of my time reading comic books. I’m a passionate keeper of spiders, cacti, and exotic plants. I eat a vegan, plant-based diet for moral and environmental reasons (I mention this only because it is relevant to which flavoured teas I drink).

I drink mostly flavoured and low caffeine teas/tisanes, but I will try anything twice. As far as pure teas go, I gravitate towards whites, yellows, and jade oolongs. I’m always open for trades and sample sales/exchanges. Message me any time :)

My cupboard is mostly up to date. For a more comprehensive list, see my stash spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-HjWKR3um-xEnj6HC9vMvKXOAyj_bpW5u_2ixEC20-k/edit?usp=sharing
