Love this one. For Christmas, my brother gave me one of those big colorful sets of mini tea tins from David’s. I was thrilled, because I love being able to try as many teas as possible before settling on one or two to buy. I think this will be one of them. It’s fruity without being overwhelmingly sweet, and the oolong is very soothing. Definitely a new favourite of mine.

A sample of this came with my last tea order. I was pleasantly surprised! These days I usually don’t go with straight fruit blends, but I found this one really relaxing on a stressful morning. It’s got a little bit of tart to it without that overwhelming hibiscus aftertaste that a lot of fruit blends have. I’d consider buying more of this one once my tea stash decreases a bit.

Yup. Still drinking this stuff daily. I bought a second box, so I guess that means I’m hooked. I don’t know what it is about this tea, but I like it a lot. And unlike some of my other teas, the low price means I don’t have to use it sparingly.

Hey Steepster, I’m back. I miss this. Life has been so all over the place with school that I barely have time to breathe.

These days it’s very hard for me to collect and experiment with new teas, but this one is growing on me. I bought a box at random when it was on sale at the store, and it’s proven to be a comforting and easy choice when I’m low on time and/or energy. It’s nothing special, but I’ve always enjoyed the combination of warm ginger and sweet fruit. There are few bagged teas I truly enjoy, but this is one I would buy again.

I didn’t have high hopes for this one. To me it smelled like medicine right off the bat.

On first sip, I’m definitely getting that “medicine” taste too. I’m finding the green tea base very grassy and the marigold quite astringent. Maybe the nuts are supposed to offset this, but it’s not doing much for me since I’m not a big fan of nuts in tea.

UGH. Okay, a few more sips and I’ve managed to pinpoint exactly which medicine this one reminds me of. It’s stirring up a very unpleasant memory of less healthy times. This likely won’t be an issue for other people, but I’m finding it incredibly hard to ignore.

Yeah, not for me. I think I’ll stick to straight green teas or those with a bit of jasmine. That seems to be my niche these days.

This one was a pleasant surprise.

I’ve had it in my cupboard for a while, waiting on the right time to try it. When I saw the name I assumed it would be one of the super sugary herbal blends that I usually can’t stand, but then I saw that it was a black tea. Guess I should maybe look up what I’m drinking before I hopelessly oversteep.

I don’t know if it’s the intense craving for baked goods that I’ve had lately or what my deal is, but this really hit the spot. I enjoy sweeter elements like nuts and cinnamon/sugar so much more in black teas than herbal teas. I feel like the slightly bitter base balances them quite well. This may not be a tea I would drink every day or at just any time of day, but it was just what I needed this afternoon. I’m drinking my third cup as we speak.

This is a very delicious tea. I have found myself craving it and only it from time to time. But like you, I would not drink it daily. Once every two weeks or so does the trick. And it resteeps nicely too.

It does resteep very nicely. I only have a bit, so I mainly drink it on days when I’ll be around to have multiple cups.

This one is really nice. Some days you just need a smooth, quality black tea without all the frills.
I only had a tiny sample of this one, but I think I’ll end up going back for more. It’s something I could see myself drinking in the mornings on a daily basis. So many of the teas in the 24 days of Tea calendar were either super minty (no good for my stomach) or so sweet that I couldn’t see myself buying more. This one was a pleasant change to that pattern.

I agree, the 24 days of tea had too many flavoured teas for my taste. I guess that is their niche, though.

You know, I wasn’t expecting to love this one given the mixed reviews, but I kind of do.

I like that it’s somewhat fruity without being too acidic. It’s got that relaxing rooibos, but isn’t sickeningly sweet the way many rooibos blends from David’s tend to be. I also find it really mellow without all of the mint and chamomile that such teas tend to use (which is an issue for my sensitive stomach).

This is a tea I can see myself enjoying at just about any time of day. I’ll probably buy more when I get the chance.

I got this tea as part of the 12 Teas of Christmas gift set. I really like these sets because they allow me to experience all kinds of tea without having to commit to buying much.

This one is alright. I’ll happily finish the cup, but it isn’t something I’d rush out to get more of. It’s got a nice hint of sweetness, but I find the amount of cinnamon in this blend a little overpowering. It leaves a kind of “hot” aftertaste in my mouth, which I think would be perfectly suited for an evening post-skiing or something, but maybe not for Sunday mornings spent studying at my desk. My husband loves this type of tea and will probably disagree.

Eh, it’s good but not really for me.

I think that it is the black peppercorn that gives that “bite” sensation. I like it a lot, but I wouldn’t want it for breakfast either!

That makes sense about the peppercorns. I’m definitely going to drink the rest of what I have so as to not make swift judgments about this one. It has potential, so maybe I just steeped it wrong.

This one is a left over from the tea calendar that I didn’t get around to trying. On first taste, it’s… odd. Something bitter with a bit of sweetness and a kind of citrusy aftertaste. Hmm. I’ll admit I definitely oversteeped this one. I thought it was herbal until I opened up the Steepster page, so I didn’t really pay attention to how long the leaves were in the water.

Still, I’m not sure if this one could be saved for me even under the best conditions. It reminds me of those odd, artificial “diet” chocolates that my mom sometimes ate when I was a kid. It’s reminiscent of chocolate, but something is not quite right.

Tea enthusiast still figuring out this Steepster thing. My collection is ever-growing.

I almost always like: Vanilla, chai, caramel, berries, lemon, hibiscus, jasmine, cinnamon, ginger, earl grey, peach, lavender.

I rarely like: Mint, chamomile, rice (not a genmaicha fan), licorice, nuts, milk, artificial sweeteners.

When it comes to straight teas, I’ve liked basically everything – black, green, white, rooibos, mate, guayusa, oolong, pu-erh and yellow teas are what I have explored so far.
