249 Tasting Notes
This is definitely nice and spicy, but I’d like a bit more actual tea in it. However, I’m so over weakly spiced chais that this was a relative delight! It does come across as a bit thin-bodied and astringent, which is why I think more tea would help. Adding milk helped with the astringency but then dulled the flavor too much.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Ginger, Pepper
This has an aroma of hot pineapple juice, which is a little odd, but has a lovely light, fruity tropical taste. The green tea is not strong, it just helps cut a little sweetness – so this comes across more as herbal than a green tea. The website describes this as a one-off when a tea was mixed incorrectly, but it is a delicious oops!
Flavors: Citrus, Pineapple, Tropical
Preparation
This is rather odd, but I like it. The scent and the taste do not agree with each other – the scent is very savory and smells like something I’d use to make a glaze for pork loin, lol. But the flavor is all sweet candy peach with a hint of ginger and the smallest hint of whatever that savory thing is. It is unique, and rather likeable. The blackberry leaf is not overwhelming to me in this, as it’s a tea you want to drink sweet. I accidentally ordered 4 oz when meaning to order just 2 oz, and I’m not upset about that. I always overleaf Davids stuff, and I did on this as well, but at least there was a good flavor payoff.
Flavors: Candy, Ginger, Herbs, Peach
Preparation
This has a nice finish to it, sweet and nutmeggy and a little creamy. Because of that nice finish, I like this better than most other Tea Revv teas I’ve tried, but it still doesn’t thrill me. I don’t get any real bitterness but it is astringent. As usual with this brand, I brewed it about double strength and it’s still not too strong.
Flavors: Astringent, Custard, Nutmeg
Preparation
Underwhelming. I used a “two cup packet” to make 6 oz and it still tastes weak but slightly bitter. The anise is evident but not overwhelming to this anise hater – but it just has no business in a gingerbread tea to me. It’s drinkable but I’m just as happy I don’t have more of it.
Flavors: Anise, Astringent, Bitter, Cinnamon

I know I’ve been pretty rough on 52teas, but this one and the Banana Pancakes one have sold me! This was fantastic! Gingerbread teas often disappoint me in not having quite enough bite, or else (less commonly) going so far overboard they hurt to drink. This was perfect! Spicy fragrance with the taste to match – truly delicious and truly gingerbread. It somehow had that cake taste, it wasn’t just a spicy chai. Well done! (Now if only I had discovered that in time to order more, lol!)
Flavors: Cake, Clove, Ginger, Nutmeg
Oh, I love this one!!! I love anything chocolate and orange, and this one actually has enough of both flavors to balance out well. As always, I love the black tea and honeybush mixture that gives me the black tea flavor and backbone without as much caffeine. I brewed this at a lower temp for longer and that seemed to really bring out the flavors. Definitely will order more!
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Orange, Orange Zest
Preparation
The one from DavidsTea is actually decent, if that’s possible for you – I’m not a huge Davids fan, but I like this one and a few others enough to occasionally order them.
This is the second banana tea I’ve ever tried. I’m not a particular fan of bananas in general, and the idea of banana tea sounds disgusting. However, I’ve loved both of the teas I’ve tried, so I don’t know what the deal is here! This has a bright banana flavor and distinct maple and nut flavors – I also don’t tend to like maple or nut, so I’m really confused. The important thing here is that this tea is delicious, and I am craving more of it!
Flavors: Maple Syrup, Nutty

@TreeGal – I know what you mean!
@Mastress Alita – I’m equally surprised to hear of another person with this sort of strong banana aversion!
My former step dad was pretty close to the same with bananas – I think it originally stemmed from a texture thing for him, and over time just became an extreme aversion to nearly anything banana. Except, he’s usually fine with stuff that’s more like a “banana candy” flavour instead of natural banana.
No weakly spiced chais!!!
