2970 Tasting Notes
The Chocolate tea quest continues. Per some very good suggestions, I double bagged this, to make it richer.
It certainly smells lovely, but I’m getting a lot of roobious and less chocolate and mint then I would really like. Perhaps a stronger steeping time? Hmmm. The quest for the perfect chocolate tea continues!
I am trying to find an Earl Grey that works for me. I never can quite figure why I cant find one that suits me, as the components are things I like in other tea blends. Hmm.
So I gave this white base a try and….. Its fine, drinkable. And the white makes it lighter, but I cant escape a bitterness in it, thats not my favorite thing. Hmm. I will keep trying. Anyone have an Earl Grey that is wonderful?

I keep trying. Something about Earl Greys just never quite jives with me, so I decided to take this white tea version for a spin. It is light and bright and very complex, but it still does not stir my soul into any serious joy. Hmm. While this is advertised as a Winter White tea, I find that the lightness of it makes it a good summer tea, even if its not my favorite.
Its chocolate tea day here, apparently!
Now, red velvet is not my favorite way to get my chocolate in, but I do like it, so when this tea lept into my basket at the store, well I decided it could just come along home with me.
You really do get the rooibos out of this, but it does blend with its beet-y chocolate flavor. So, good on the blending, Republic of Tea.
Its not as rich as some other chocolate teas (probably due to rooibos and not black bases), but I’ll happily drink my can up.
I got some of this at a Spice & Tea Exchange in Ashland Oregon. I have been questing for good chocolate teas, being a firm lover of chocolate.
This tastes like bittersweet chocolate, which is not a bad thing at all. This is smooth, and rich, and very dark tasting. I like it! Good for days, like today, when my sweet tooth rules my head.
My quest for chocolate teas continue! If you know of a good one, let me know.
Goodness, this is a strong tea. I’m attempting to branch out from by beloved flavored teas, and try some good basics. I got this as a sample with a Harneys order.
Besides being strong, though, I have nothing to say against it. It seems like a strong but a nice cup of tea. I’ve got a second sample as well, and I’ll be able to refine my thoughts a little more about it then.
I think I like it, but wont go out of my way for it.
I do seem to pick up a lot of tea on a whim. This was a post holiday clearance find, and I figured “hey, why not?”
Oooooh. It smells like an almond croissant, which is something that is absolutely scrumptious to me. I don’t get a lot of the coconut at all, just a lungful of pastry like almond, and a hint of vanilla. So far so good.
It tastes, I don’t know, redder then it smells, but its very nice. I like this tea. Only one more baggie, until my tin is all gone. Then I guess I will wait for December to roll around again!
This sounds like something I would like. I love ginger, and I love honey (that I love tea goes without saying).
But this just tastes flat. I don’t get any complex flavors or layered notes of ginger or honey in this. I do get a hint of the ginger, but not any of the honey. Unfortunately this tastes a bit like….. hot water.
This, I confess it freely, was my introduction to Darjeelings, and I’ve still got some of it in bags in my kitchen. I have moments of affection for it, as it introduced me to Darjeelings, which I love, and when I came across it the other day, I thought I’d make a cup.
Goodness its bitter. Until I had drunk some better tea, and I hadn’t realized just how intense this way.
Still, I’ll try to finish up my few packets of it, out of nostalgia, and then I shall move on to better Darjeelings.
Green tea! I confess that I have never really liked green tea. Admitting that makes me feel a bit like a bad tea drinker. But I’m adventurous enough to try some new ones, as its very likely that I just don’t like grocery store bagged green tea.
I picked this up at a little fair that happens in my local area, and thought that it smelled so lovely that I brought some home with me.
I really like fruit and rose flavors, so if any cup of tea would convince me to go green, this is it.
I like it! Its not a fav, or an everyday cup, but now and then I’m happy to sip some Love Tea # 3.
