As much as I do love a good 90’s pun, I have to say that the French name for this tea is Abracadabnoix which is so much better.

Due to some horrible, horrible customer service I’ve been sleeping on a mattress on the floor for the last five nights instead of an actual bed. Needless to say, it’s having an impact on my quality of sleep. I’ve been falling back on coffee, sugar cereal, and mate to try and get me through the work day. This tea delivered on the energy boost, without the usual tartness of most mate blends. It’s dry from the nuts, not much apricot, but very tasty. Reminds me of the Toasted Walnut blend from DT that I used to keep in stock on and off.

Yep, it’s an herbal. The chamomile is strong, with a nice little sweet fruity undertone. I wouldn’t be able to finger it as blueberry unless I read the box. But it was a fairly tasty, if forgettable cuppa.

drank Raspberry Jam by DAVIDsTEA

Time for a bedtime tea. Not getting much raspberry from this, a lot of hibiscus and some chamomile though. It’s a bit of an odd combination. Tart and fuzzy at the same time. Not a pleasant kind of odd – really just odd.

drank Long Life Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

A bit of a sad but inevitable sipdown. Finished off the mini-tin that’s been part of my work cupboard for the last two years. The flavourings in this tea have certainly mellowed over the years, but it was still a sweet and fruity brew. I’ve never found another oolong with quite the same bright notes.

This tea will always summon up for me memories of the early years of our marriage. It’s just a solidly good blend, it hits the boxes for a slightly minty, slightly chocolatey pick-me-up. I’ve just been craving flavoured blacks lately, and this didn’t disappoint.

Cracked open a new bag of this at work today for a much-needed energy boost. On that, it has not disappointed (I’m only about halfway through my cup). I steeped it for a little longer than usual, given that mates aren’t susceptible to oversteeping, but I think that triggered the licorice root. It’s a really nice lemony cup with a bit of tingle from the ginger and ginseng, but the aftertaste is nothing but throat-sticking cloying licorice. Very unpleasant.

Very peachy through the first few sips, but quickly fades. Not a bad cuppa of straight black tea though.

drank Peach Earl Grey by Red Leaf Tea

Backlogging from last night. Just wanted an Earl, this fit the bill. Despite the rapidly aging leaf, it’s stood up well. Smoky and citrusy, with just a really subtle peach fuzz over the whole thing.

Another sipdown (and we are back to tealogging in real time, sorry for the flood of reviews), and I think unfortunately this has succumbed to age. I’m getting that kind of woody rooibos funk but not a whole lot of strawberry. Disappointing.

Mmmm. Tea. I have become a believer.

I like oolongs and greens, and dark smoky flavours. And Earl Greys. All the Earl Greys. I have bent my nerd powers to learning as much as I can about tea and tea culture. I have started to ramble about tea.

Tea. Mmmm.
