230 Tasting Notes
This tea is SO GOOD. I got this sample out of the “Considering Another Traveling Teabox” tea box. I also JUST placed a Della Terra order. I wish I had added this. I can taste the blueberry, the crumble, the sugar, caramel ,brown sugar, baked goods and just bliss.
Such a yum!
I got a sample of this from the “Considering Another Traveling Teabox” tea box. I was so excited to taste it BUT I think this sample might a little stale. It was a perfectly pleasant tea BUT I’m not getting any of the exciting notes that other tasters have found. I’m not going to leave a rating because I’m sure this is based on these specific tea leaves and NOT the tea as it comes from Butiki.
I tried a sample of this out of the “Considering Another Traveling Teabox” Teabox.
Like all Harney and Sons teas that I have tried this has a solid black tea base. It is nice and very fruity and tart. But all I can say is….nice. I don’t get anything super passion-fruity specific flavors. It is a nice generally sweet black tea. Kinda non-descript.
I got the honor of tasting this storied tea from the “Considering Another Traveling Teabox” teabox. This tea has such a wonderful reputation on steepster that I made sure to give it the tea brewing considering it was due. This means 1. Proper steeping instrument (in this case a forlife large infuser and mug), 2. Using a timer and paying attention to said timer, 3. multiple infusions and 4. Making sure not to forget that I had made my cup before it got cold!
Every infusion I added 30 seconds. I started with 3 minutes for the first infusion.
First Infusion: Malt, Chocolate, Caramel. It feels a little thicker then most teas. I am also getting some creamy notes.
Second Infusion: This is very a pronounced chocolate and malt notes. It is reminiscent of a good thick malty stout beer.
Third Infusion: At this point the tea is much thinner feeling. This tea tasted like the most delicate black yunan.
Fourth Infusion: The most delicate sunny sweet honey flavor.
This tea truly does live up to expectations. There is just enough tea in the packet for another cup which I am going to leave in the box so that someone else can try this delight!
I got this out of the “considering Another Traveling Teabox” teabox. I grabbed the teabag as a simple way to get a sampling in while at work…in my quest to drink all the options while I have the box! I
I am in the minority here on steepster, but I do not dislike hibiscus. Some teas with hibiscus can actually be good! (achem, Crimson Nectar by Tea Forte).
Alas, this tea comes off as a generic hibiscus fruit blend. Nothing to exciting nothing super offensive. HOWEVER, as an aside to call this raspberry is a little wrong since there is not really a raspberry note to be found just generic tart berry…
Where has this Rooibos tea been my entire tea-drinking life? THIS TEA IS AMAZINGLY GOOD. Maybe I only like green rooibos?
I love the fruity melon flavor, the scent, the light mouth feel. Just about everything about it.
Anyone who has tried this rooibos have anything similar that I’d like?
I got to try this out of the “Considering Another Traveling Teabox” Teabox.
Drinking this while sitting at my desk. It tastes a lot like David’s Tea The Skinny. For comparison the ingredients in this tea are: BLACK TEAS, CHICORY, COCOA PEELS, ROASTED YERBA MATÉ, ORANGE PEEL, ROSE PETALS, ROSEMARY, LEMON BALM, CITRUS ESSENCE OIL, NATURAL FLAVOR. YERBA MATÉ CONTAINS NATURALLY OCCURRING STIMULANT COMPOUNDS IN ADDITION TO CAFFEINE.
And the ingredients in David’s Tea the Skinny are:
Chinese oolong tea**, Chinese pu’erh tea, ginger, eleuthero root, orange peel. With natural flavouring*.
The similar ingredients are the ginger and the orange peel. This has a less harsh mouth feel but less intense flavor. I enjoy this flavor profile so both are winners to me! While both are different flavors due to different tea, etc. the flavor profile is similar.

After my first experience with this tea was not pleasant I decided to try again.
I steeped a single cup, metal infuser, clean white teacup. The tea was PLEASANT and sweet. I didn’t really get any specific note other then sweet. I will say that the tea is somewhat unattractive to look at in the cup the pretty candies melt and look somewhat….oily. It DOES sparkle but also the blogs of oil are somewhat off putting.

I drank this on the way to work today. It wasn’t a BAD tea per se but I really did not get any peach flavor. It tasted like a slightly straight black loose black tea. On the scheme of things it was better then bad bagged tea but nothing super spectacular.
