276 Tasting Notes
This is a new one for me and considering how much I love Manoomin Maple, this one did not disappoint. While I definitely will always love Manoomin Maple more, this one was the soo warm and cozy while we’re watching TV.
Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Spices
So, Mom and I decided to move our initially much later trip to Montreal up a few weeks because we kind of needed to escape the craziness of life. So… we also found out that there was a DAVIDsTEA close to where we are staying so… we had to grab a few things! Mom ended up getting a bunch of Nordic mugs that were marked down to 10 CAD$ to give as holiday gifts this year. I however… went a little crazy with some teas. I’ve added them to my cupboard but I got:
- 250g Cotton Candy (one of my favs)
- 250g Cactus Rose (New to me but.. convinced I’ll like it)
- 250g Birthday Cake (New to me)
- 1 tin of Manoomin Maple (gonna probably get more…)
- 1 tin of Manoomin Apple Pie
- 100g Simply Maple Breakfast
- 100g New York, New York
- 2 Apres Ski sachet packs
- Nordic Mug- Manoomin
Any who… This blend is sooo good! I brought a mini kettle up with me so while we’re relaxing a bit after dinner we’re also trying teas! I like that its not too sweet and the rooibos ties it together really nice… just enough to taste it!
Flavors: Cake, Creamy, Icing, Rooibos, Syrupy, Vanilla, Whipped Cream
I REALLY like this one. It’s rich, creamy, minty, and has a touch of cocoa in the background that I love. I think it’s one of my favorite mint chocolate blends now. I’ll definitely need to re-buy this before the holidays.
Flavors: Cocoa, Cream, Dark Chocolate, Peppermint, Vanilla
So, I really like this one… but I couldn’t tell you why. Like many of the other reviews, I think that the amount of flavors in this blend make it a bit hard to distinguish, it is quite tasty. I like Rose, I like raspberry, and I like bergamot. So what’s not to like? Sure, I could do with some more bergamot or… maybe I need to find a raspberry Earl Grey blend (let me know if one exists). But hey, maybe its the broken AC in the office making me freezing making mediocre tea surprisingly good or… maybe I’m in the minority of people that would re-purchase this one.
Flavors: Airy, Candy, Floral, Fruity, Raspberry, Rose, Sugar, Syrupy
Well, never mind I guess. Google very aggressively let me know that raspberry Earl Greys are a thing, and I have in fact browsed some before…
It’s just called Raspberry Earl Grey, here it is at Shanti Tea: https://www.shantitea.ca/home/product/raspberry-earl-grey
I… really like this tea. I didn’t think I would considering the unexpected spices… but it is perfectly balanced for me. I guess I’ll need to grab more when I go to Canada next week if I can.
Flavors: Caramelized Sugar, Cinnamon, Clove, Orange, Orange Zest, Spices
Honestly, I still don’t love this… I’ll drink it but I think I placed it. The base is too astringent and the lavender is bitter. IDK if there’s artificial flavoring for lavender or if there’s too much, though it doesn’t look like it. Some how it is worse the second time. Maybe it needs to be a latte.
This is a nice blend but not as good as I was hoping it would be. I quite like lavender and I like cream teas. This didn’t necessarily hit the spot. It was a bit astringent and strong black tea heavy which I don’t mind usually but when I expect one thing and taste another it is a little disappointing. That being said, I might try to steep it a little lighter next time and see if that changes things. Though, I don’t think that this will be a blend I will be repurchasing from Murchies.
Flavors: Astringent, Burnt, Chemical, Lavender, Malt, Sharp, Tea
