Campfire Blend

I keep forgetting this is a herbal and that’s half of why i picked up 4oz of this…because i love it and it’s missing the tea! :) I had a giant mug of this to make up for neglecting it while taking a wonderful bath tonight. While this IS similar in profile to vanilla citrus spice in some ways, it’s also got a bit of a kick to it that makes it different enough to make me happy and tasty enough to satisfy me..or something like that. Maybe the woozle ate my thought.

Woah!!! I put off trying this cause the smell was bit intense for me, but I love it. The cinnamon and the rice are soooooo good together. Really happy with this tea. Like cinnamon rice crispy treats. And plenty sweet on its own. Staple for sure.

Wow, how delicious is this? Carob-y spice and sweetness – hard for me to put into words. I can see why this is called Campfire Blend, and it’s quite appropriate. I will definitely be buying more of this in the future.

Finally getting around to tasting this one from last month. I should be able to finish it off in two more sittings with the given leaf to water ratio in the instructions, so that’s a plus when it comes to my sipdown goal. Considering I’m having three more of the blends coming soon!

This one smells really interesting. Spicy and orangey, but also rich and sweet. The wild rice, vanilla and carob in this is giving it a really interesting scent of cookie dough or perhaps sweet challah bread.

I really like this one. To me everything really works and I love the toasted wild rice as a base for an herbal… it almost reminds me of the buckwheat tea, except with a lot of other extras. There’s a faint lingering sweetness from the dandelion root, I think. This one certainly screams fall to me. Mmmm, I would like to have this one to curl up with in the evenings occasionally.

It’s so miserable here. Snowed about 10 cm overnight, and still going strong, windy out, roads are a mess. It’s my boyfriend’s engineer ceremony today so I had to drop him off there at 9, man oh man, so much snow on the roads. And I picked up my Verdant order on the way back at the post office haha, haven’t tried any of the new ones yet, I will wait until it’s not as busy of a day, or this evening. So I’m having a cup of this on this blustery day. Oh, and I have a splitting headache. One advil didn’t do a lot…gahhh. So I will enjoy this cup, but probably have something caffeine heavy later, maybe another cup of Santa’s Secret (had that this morning, mint + black tea seemed to help). I love the flavor of this tea! If I could get my vanilla citrus spice to taste similar to this, I’d be so happy lol. Orangey, a bit of chocolate, spice. Yum. See previous notes!

Uh oh. I’m the first to write a note.

Before steeping, mostly I can smell the AMAZING orange peel that Verdant has sourced this fall. Steeped, it’s spicy and orangey. With no sweetener, it tastes like genmaicha – toasty rice, but with an interesting spice blend in the background rather than green tea. I used a heaping tsp of tea in an 8 oz teacup, but I might try using more in the future. Or less.

I added a wee spoonful of honey.

It’s just ok. I don’t think I’d search it out again because I don’t care for the coriander seeds. The rest of the blend is pretty good, and it’s nice to have a non-caffeinated tea around. But.

I drank a cup of this a few hours ago, along with the resteep.
Now I think I’ll have another cup for dessert, with Maple, of course!

Another in my order from Verdant!

The dry scent of this tea made me quite wary, but steeped the scent is much more inviting. The cinnamon is coming through most clearly now.

The taste is pretty light, which is both good and not so good. There isn’t any of the almost offensive dry scent taste going on, but the yummy smelling cinnamon isn’t that clear in the taste either. I’m getting the subtlest hint of orange in the background. Hmm. Hopefully more flavour will come through as it cools.

I’m thinking this one needs a bit more leaf.

Tea #42 from HHTTB2

This tea, once steeped, manages to smell both sweet and savory simultaneously. It actually smells a lot like the Egyptian Licorice tea from Yogi, but slightly deeper and more full. I think it’s the ginger and orange in both blends coming through, but it’s kind of weird.

They taste nothing alike though. The taste here is spicy and vanillay with a little orange. Definitely a rich, sweet blend. There’s also a roasted brothiness here, too. Like the other two Verdant blends, there’s a lot going on in the cup and it’s not necessarily something I like.

Yeah… this is my second try at this tea, and I still wasn’t a fan. There was something off about it that my tastebuds didn’t enjoy. I couldn’t really specify what, though. Perhaps carob?

Anyhow, there’s about a serving’s worth left… Sil if you want it, it’s yours…
