From Verdant Tea

Through the first few steepings this tea tastes almost candy like. There are strong notes of orchid and honeysuckle that linger in the back of the throat like licorice root. In steeping three the extremely creamy and buttery quality of this tea comes through to support the floral nature. It tastes almost like fresh Spanish saffron and clover honey. Late in steeping, the floral and creamy notes continue and the complexity builds with the introduction of sweet grass notes. The flavor yields excellent infusions for about thirty steepings in a gaiwan, or 10 in a traditional tea pot.

Dug this out of my cupboard after 5-6 years, and it STILL tastes reasonably good. A rather unique tea with a mixture of several flavours, chief among which is berries.

An excellent tieguanyin that really showcases the floral notes that are available to the varietal. I prepared the tea to the gongfu specifications on the Verdant Tea website using a gaiwan, 7g of leaf, and 10s for first infusion increasing by 2 seconds each time. I reduced the temperature to just below boiling. Aroma is very fresh and floral. Color is light green and clear. The taste is light, slightly sweet, and floral like lilacs. Overall this tea provides a great experience for a good price.
