Muffin to talk about

We don’t care who you are or where you’re coming from. No one can say no to a muffin. There’s no cuter – or more delicious – way to start your day. Even the name is a delight. And with cranberries, orange slices and cinnamon, this warm and comforting blend has all the taste of a freshly baked muffin…at next to no calories. Meaning you can get that warm, fuzzy feeling every time you steep a cup. Does it get any better? Muffin can compare.

Price per 50g: $8.50

My first tea taste out of the Fall 2015 Collection.

This tea smells very nice and is a pretty heavy tea, this has A LOT of cranberries in it, which isn’t bad because I do like them.
When steeped, it is a very light colour and the taste isn’t as strong as I hoped even though I did steep it for longer than what was required, it’s still nice though.
Everyone said that it smelled like an actual muffin and I am getting that VERY slightly from the dry blend, but not from the brewed.
It has hibiscus in it (I’m not a fan of too much), but I can’t really taste it, same with the cinnamon and the actual cranberries, even though they are the strongest flavours, there’s not much there.

It’s not bad, but not a restock.

I picked this up on the weekend along with this years Pumpkin Chai and Honeycrisp Apple (notes on those later if I remember), and decided to make it this morning as it is a slightly chilly more autumn feeling morning, and a cranberry muffin tea sounded about right lol. This will be a quick note as I’m at work, but the dandelion root and cinnamon are good in here, making it toasty and muffin like. Cranberry and hib are staying at bay, probably because I only steeped for 2 mins (finally, not an overwhelmingly hibiscus cup!!). This actually is reminding me of Verdant’s Campfire Blend a fair amount, probably the cinnamon and dandelion. Tasty and sweet this morning!

I don’t know how they managed to make this taste muffin-like, but this is easily my favorite of the three samples I’ve received recently. I’m glad the hibiscus flavor isn’t as strong as I was expecting when I saw that it was an ingredient. This is a really pleasant tisane with strong, but not overpowering, cranberry flavor that is nicely complimented by the orange, pineapple and cinnamon. It’s definitely my favorite from the fall collection, so far.

I like this a lot more than I thought I would. I was surprised by the tartness, which in retrospect is kinda stupid considering it is cranberry and orange. Neither dominates, and I don’t know if it’s just a mental thing because of the name, but there it does have the feel of a baked yummy. I’m not sure where that would be from…? Anyway, don’t know if I’d keep this religiously stocked, but I’ll enjoy it while it’s around! Definitely a nice evening cup.

This is probably my favourite of the fall collection so far. It absolutely tastes like muffins so there’s no disappointment in that respect. Nice light cranberry flavour supporting lovely orange notes. If I manage to sip down some of my cupboard I might pick some of this up towards the end off fall.

This was the other fall collection tea I bought today. Dry it really smells like muffins!!!
This is really good. I sometimes have issues with orange teas – they come across more as citrus acidic than orange. This is tart cranberry sweet orange some pastry/nut notes with just a hint of cinnamon. Well balanced, warm and soothing. This really works for me as a fall dessert tea. ;)

This sounds super interesting. Of course, now I just want to get a whole bunch of fall stuff (though I’m still put out by the lack of hedgehog teapots)

Nicole

hedgehog teapots?

Christina / BooksandTea

They have a colour-changing Nordic mug with a hedgehog design, but I really want a similar design on one of their bubble teapots. It seems like they’re really de-emphasizing those pots lately, though; the new fall collection doesn’t have any bubble teapot designs.

With this tea, I get a lot of bitter flavors, which makes sense with the cranberry and citrus. I actually LIKE overbrewed black teas for their bitterness and I drink my coffee black, but I didn’t find the orange/cranberry mix to be cozy. I do get a little bit of the cinnamon flavor, which I think rounds it out better. I don’t think the hibiscus helps this tea, the flavors are already bitter enough I think the hibiscus just makes it more so. I was also hoping for that fresh baked flavor that you get in a lot of dessert teas and didn’t quite find it. Again, I don’t dislike it but I also won’t be purchasing a large amount.

Dry leaf: Great mix of cranberry and orange with a creamy, pastry smell.

Liqueur: Orange and red color. Smells like fresh baked muffins with mild fruit notes.

Flavour: Refreshing berry tartness with the flavor of mild spices and a light, creamy citrus finish. Has a light and crisp mouthfeel.
