Lemon aid

Ever wonder what makes lemons so…lemony? It comes from something called “citral,” a molecular compound that gives lemons their fresh citrus smell. And lemon myrtle contains about 20 times more citral than a lemon. That’s right – it’s even more lemony than a lemon itself! Prized in perfume, aromatherapy and cooking, this sweet, lemony herb also happens to make the most refreshing, sublimely lemony tea in the universe. Ever.

Ingredients: lemon myrtle

After the disappointment of La La Lemon I decided to try a tea that promised to be more lemony then lemons themselves. It certainly smells absurdly lemony and looks absurdly lemony which is basically a promise of perfection to me.

It’s a very pleasant tea but I prefer Midsummer’s Night Dream as a lemon tea. This is a truly strong tart and bitter lemony tea so it tastes like more of a wellness tea then a treat tea.I think this will be a staple wellness tea good for sore throats and cold cold days but is not a treat tea by any stretch.
