Day 54 of my 101 days of DAVIDsTEA challenge!

Bough a cup of this in-store. Managed to spill around a tenth of it on myself — I’d forgotten how hard it is to manouver tea and an umbrella at the same time.

Nonetheless, the tea was quite good straight — it had a lovely pungent chai flavour, with sweetness. I quite enjoyed it. However, I’m not sure if it’s because it doesn’t resteep well or because it’s just not as good this way, but I didn’t like it as much the second time around with milk and brown sugar. Therefore, I think this might be the first chai I really prefer straight!

I just hope I have better drinking conditions the next time I indulge in a cup of this….

eeek, umbrellas and tea really don’t mix!! I’ve had to fight that battle more times than I like to admit :(

I’m drinking this tea right now. I hope it will give me the energy to write the massive number of tea reviews I’ve fallen behind on.

It’s a good chai. I really like super-strong chais, and this is stronger than, say, DT’s Saigon Chai, which is nice. I forgot to ask them when I was in the store yesterday which chai they made was the absolute strongest. Whoops.
When I make chai for myself, from scratch, I brew up black tea, then I dump in obnoxious amounts of chinese five spice and cardamom. Usually I end up with a big clump of spices at the bottom.
I was drinking this, trying to figure out what’s missing, and then it hit me: no cardamom. To me, cardamom is what makes a good chai. So I stirred some in. If I bought a bag of this, I might throw some cardamom pods in with the loose tea. Maybe crush them first (which is what I do with big spices in tea).

This is a pretty good tea though

So I haven’t bee on this site in a while but I’m back!! Missed me?? Ok so sadly I’m sick :( AND I had to walk from school all the way to the library to do homework . BUT I did get all my homework done so that’s good :) ANYWAY, after I finished my homework I decided that I deserve to get myself some DAVID’sTEA to help fight this cold. So I walk in and my crush who works there helps me out (the store was completely empty except for me, the cute guy, and another younger guy who works there)ya ok so I ended up getting a Chai Guarana latte with agave and soyamilk. It tasted pretty good, it warmed me up, stopped my nose from running, and helped my throat! It tasted very coco like to me and gingery but also pretty tasty. Not the most extravagant flavor full tea but not horrible. All I know is that the guy working there is adorable!

This was yet another reccomendation made by an employee. I was rather skeptical about this one as I am not the biggest fan of the bold flavours. This one really suprised me. The initial taste is quite bold but as it lingers, it almost becomes more spicy as it looses the initial flavour. I only picked up 10g and I can’t see myself stocking up on this one but I would definetely have another cup!

This is definately my go-to morning tea. To be honest, I dont really get that energy boost but I dont blame the tea; I literaly fell asleep right after drinking two large black coffees. Energy boosts and caffeen just dont affect me, never did.

Anyways, at first sniff of the dry leaves this tea smells totally disgusting!!!!!! BUT when you steep it the nasty smell goes away and tastes AMAZING, just like chai should. Its spicey but not too spicy, its a really good chai. I receomend it for all of you chai lovers out there, and maybe the energy boost will work on you hahaha (:

It’s the 1 the I bought a year don’t remember when.. it’s was for doing a chaï latté!
I try it without milk and it’s ok but will be better in latté with some honey I think!

I’ll try to do it in latté when winter come!!

This was really smooth and tasty. The first time I tried this tea was when I arrived home after night skiing at 5am got 4hours of sleep and was getting ready for work. Caffein doesn’t sit well with me but this tea got me through the day without any jitters, nausea, heart palpatations, sweating or after high crash. This one is going on my list of must haves for those emergency situations.

Here’s Hoping TTB

I love a good chai, but this one was a disappointment: a thin, sweet cinnamon brew lacking the depth and rich spiciness that I was hoping for.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Sweet

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 4 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML
Arby

DT goes a bit overboard with their cinnamon sometimes. They seem to forget that you can actually use cinnamon in a blend without it being the only flavour present.

Inkling

True that! I like cinnamon within reason, but not when it’s the only thing I can taste…

Had to cold steep this one because there are no ceramic cups in the room. I’m tempted to try it hot later and see if the flavor improves but generally I find that most tea I cold steep are a bit stronger … this one is pretty lite. Not enough ‘spice’ to it for a chai. And I’m not entirely fond of the flavor. It leaves a weird aftertaste in my opinion.
