I got an email for this tea and jumped on it. I love lavender.

I ordered it Friday afternoon. It arrived this morning. Wowzer.

I made my first glass with cold water, a tiny bit of simple syrup, and two scoops of the chashaku and whooshed it with my Aerolatte. I added a little splash of milk. Delish. Then a friend came over and wanted to try it and I did it all over again! Yums!

I felt like the aroma of lavender was light when I opened the pouch, but it didn’t get lighter in the actual drink. I like the amount of flavoring, and since two of my good friends who drink tea with me prefer things that are not heavy on flavoring, this will be much to their liking.

I am convinced that this is going to make delicious ice cream so that is probably going to happen tomorrow.

I actually had a sipdown of my plain hojicha powder from the this company but I didn’t take it out of cupboard because I got a new and bigger pouch of it with this order, and I am not even sorry.

Lavender ice cream sounds wonderful!

I will report on it when I get around to making it! I have made blackcurrant black tea ice cream and rose black tea ice cream and both were sooooo good, but I do love me some ice cream.

There is one brand of lavender ice cream (Snoqualmie, a PNW brand) in my local grocery store… I suspect I may be the only one who buys it, but I absolutely love it!

May Flowers! Seeing as I’m a huge lavender fan, of course when I found some lavender matcha I had to get some. I like my matcha latte-style, since the vanilla almond milk adds a bit of sweetness and creaminess all at once, so I tend to prepare my matcha very lazily by putting a sifted teaspoon into my milk frother with a cup of milk and letting it mix and heat up at the same time.

The dry matcha had a very strong lavender scent, but my finished latte pretty much just smelled like an average matcha latte, without a lavender aroma… I’m not sure if the milk made that much of a difference, or if the flavoring was more subtle than it seems once out of the bag. Most of the cup I was just getting a very sweet, grassy matcha taste, but toward the end of my cup, I finally started getting a distinct lavender flavor. I stirred up my cup with a spoon even after its frothing, but it seems the flavor still settled toward the bottom of the cup. Once I did reach the lavender flavor, it was quite nice though. The flavor goes nicely with the sweet grassy flavor of the matcha, and I’m looking forward to trying some other things with it, like matcha lemonade.

This is back on offer on their site. Did you ever try it as a lemonade? I plan to order some this weekend!
