On the 7th day of sipdowns…

I had enough for two cups of this today but it was mostly just the little non-berry bits so it was a bit weak on the fruity flavor but eh. This time it still tastes like berries, blackberries, lingonberries or cranberries possibly, and a faint flavor of…currants? I like it but it’s been sitting in my collection for a bit too long and it was time for it to finally go!

drank Pumpkin Spice by Adagio Teas

On the 6th day of sipdowns (backlog)…

I had this yesterday as I ran out the door on weekend number 5 of apartment hunting and it was the best tasting cup of this I’ve had to date. There wasn’t much pumpkin-y flavor, but the stereotypical pumpkin spice flavor was there, a bit overwhelmed by the black tea, but sill there. I grabbed this in the holiday sampler last year, and I wouldn’t buy it on it’s own, but if it was packaged up with some others I liked again for a good price I might snag it.

I picked up a half ounce of this yesterday after seeing the rave review from Sil. It’s good – it tastes exactly like french toast, it’s got the sweet, bready flavor to it with a bit of cinnamon and spice. I’m impressed with how close the flavor is.

That being said, this tea is what reminded me that I don’t even like french toast. So it’s good, but not my cuppa.

On the 5th day of sipdowns…

Yesterday I just had the last of my black cherry from Celestial and it wasn’t anything to rave about so I didn’t bother posting. Today’s was the end of my Dark Chocolate Delight..

I put in a teaspoon of cream when I made it this time and the cream totally overpowered the chocolatey notes of the tea which is lame but I still think this tea is missing something. There are some chocolatey, nutty flavors to it, but it tastes like a milk-less hot chocolate. Meh. Maybe when I’ve drunk down most of my collection I’ll get some more.

drank Almond Ode to Joy Tea by Wegmans

On the third day of sipdowns…

The rest of my family had waffles for dinner that smelled EXACTLY like this tea so I fished this out of the sipdown pile. I didn’t notice this before but there is some apple undertones beneath the oatty, nutty, almond flavors. There’s some spices, namely cinnamon that round it out a bit.

drank Rooibos Almond by Adagio Teas

I haven’t had much luck with adagio’s rooibos flavors in the past but one of my friends suggested this one so I picked up a sample.

It tastes like marzipan, but in a good way. I wish there was a little more true almond flavor, but I still like it. It’s got the woodsy rooibos undertones with the strong marzipan almond flavor. I’d classify it as a dessert tea.

On the second day of sipdowns…

This one has been hiding in my collection for a year now and I forgot I even had it. There’s a strong cinnamon and clove combo going on but the apple and cranberries blend in quite nicely. The rooibos base gives it a bit of a baked good flavor so it ends up tasting kind of like spiced apple crisp.

drank Ginger Snap Rooibos by Tea Guys

Tea Guys’ blending skills amaze me every cup. This tastes pretty darn close to a gingersnap and got rid of any baked goods craving I may have had. The ginger is pretty laid back, but the cookie flavor is there. There’s enough different flavors to the tea to make it really come across well.

I looked at the ingredients list afterwards, and I could maybe taste some coconut, but papaya? pineapple? How did they hide those in there? I couldn’t taste those flavors at all.

On the first day of sipdowns my true love gave to me…

Okay this one doesn’t even count as a sipdown because I held on to the last tea bag long enough that I was able to pick up a tin of it at the factory store before finishing it off but here goes…

The excitement of this tea has gone away, it still is very eggnog like, but the cream notes were more subtle and the nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice combo was much more prevalent. I still loved it, and I’m happy I was able to pick up some more in loose leaf rather than in bags.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Cloves, Cream, Marshmallow, Nutmeg

Liquid Proust

This sounds like a Butiki tea :p

I think I might be able to finally call my mission for the perfect caramel tea a success!
This has a nice mellow caramel flavor to it which is much stronger in the smell than in the taste. It also has an interesting… baked good taste and texture in my mouth (possibly from the buckwheat?) and tastes almost like a caramel muffin/cupcake. I wish there was a liiiittle bit more salt but other than that it’s pretty spot on, a wonderful afternoon cuppa.

Bio

I got into loose leaf teas about three years back when I figured I might be a little too old for Celestial Seasoning’s Zinger Teas. Ever since, I’ve been sneaking out of the house to find obscure hole in the wall tea shops to get my fix and swapping teas as I go.
Lately, I’ve been into herbals and rooibos, but I do enjoy black tea, specifically ceylons. I mainly drink flavored teas.

Caramel flavored teas
Cherry herbals
