247 Tasting Notes
I’ll admit, I cheated and had this hot instead of iced.
Fairly good, it definitely has some creamy notes and is fairly tannic but I can’t taste any pumpkin. Definitely par for the course for my tastes in flavored tea but I wish it had more of the pumpkin flavor in it to make it stick out more.
Flavors: Cream, Tannic
I stopped by Target to see if they had the Bigelow Holiday Teas and they don’t either. But apparently they stock a few varieties of H&S! I picked up this one which I’ve been dying to try and restocked on their Pumpkin Spice (YAY!)
This is wonderful! It reminds me of a tea I’ve had before but I can’t remember which one. The vanilla is strong and very calming, I’m glad this is decaf because it reminds me of night time and lazy winter days when you just want to be cozy and warm. It’s reminiscent of hot chocolate in a non-chocolate-y way or sugar cookies. I’m so so so happy I picked this up!
Flavors: Cookie, Cream, Vanilla
I begrudgingly picked this up on Sunday. I know I don’t need more tea in my collection that I haven’t been eyeing (H&S, Bigelow’s holiday teas, T2…) but I grabbed 2oz of this because it was so cheap and who can’t resist coconut?
It’s so buttery and creamy. The coconut is rather mild, but it reminds me of coconut milk or cream – without the creamy consistency. I don’t normally fawn over white teas but this one is a clear winner over Adagio’s coconut.
Flavors: Butter, Coconut, Cream
I only had about ~3 more cups left of this one so I figured I’d sneak in a cup today. I swear each time I make a cup, I like it a little more. I wonder if I needed to mix up the bag a little bit better every other time I’ve made it…
There’s some spice to it this time! It’s vaguely chocolatey but it’s got a chai kick. Cloves, cinnamon, maybe even a little bit of pepper. I might actually miss this one by the time I finish it off.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cinnamon, Cloves, Pepper
This tastes kind of like Tang.. or a weird.. non-carbonated orange soda (which means next time I’m making this with seltzer!)
It’s alright, definitely very orangey, not my favorite CS tea at the moment but still fairly good. The orange is super tangy and overall fairly tart, and the other citrus flavors help the hibiscus shine through.
Flavors: Citrus, Hibiscus, Orange, Tangy
This is actually a fantastic Earl Grey, the rooibos is definitely not the star of the show here and it tastes exactly like it’s caffeinated sibling, the traditional EG.
The bergamont is sharp and the cream is much more of an aftertaste but it’s not as harsh as some black Earl Greys I’ve tried.
Flavors: Bergamot, Cream
I’ve been avoiding trying this one to be honest. I remembered my roommate asking if she could eat this tea (it’s got chunks of dried pineapple in it) and that grossed me out so I put it aside but figured I should try it eventually.
It’s very watery – I steeped it with 1.5 tsp for 15 minutes and it’s very mild. The one flavor that sticks out is the pineapple. It’s actually mostly pineapple, and not at all tart. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a problem with pineapple, but I wish there was something else.
Flavors: Pineapple
Woooo! 100th tasting note :)
I needed some black tea to go this morning (and I like using tea bags in my thermos) so I grabbed this.
Their tea bags are bizarre, it was like.. a baby sock filled with tea leaves. No room for the tea leaves to expand at all :/ But the tea itself was good, the bergamot was not too terribly strong but definitely present, which is just how I like it.
Flavors: Bergamot
I picked this up from Grand Central Station today on my way out of the city in an effort to find a replacement favorite cherry tisane.
This one is good, not a replacement, but definitely welcome in my cupboard. The tea is definitely much more cranberry flavor (and a little bit of hibiscus and raspberry) with cherry undertones – as another steepsterite mentioned, it’s kind of like cranberry juice (and I’m totally okay with this!) and it’s very tart.
Flavors: Cherry, Cranberry, Hibiscus, Raspberry, Tart
This is similar to DavidsTea’s Alpine Punch I think minus the rooibos.
The brew is bright red but I can’t figure out why – I can’t taste any hibiscus, pretty much the only flavor I can taste is nuts. It’s alright and I’m sad to see the bottom of the bag but I’m also okay with making room for new teas.
Flavors: Almond, Nuts
