drank Elderflower Spritz by DAVIDsTEA

I picked up 10g of all the new spring teas (save for Melon Drop, as that has kiwi and I’m allergic), and I decided to give this one a whirl this afternoon. Definitely a pleasant surprise for me… I can taste a mix of jasmine, lavender and some other floral base I can’t quite put my finger on. I don’t think I’ve had elderberry before, so that’s also a different taste. The mix of white and green tea is also nice, and this was a light, refreshing cup – and a much needed palate cleanser from all the Cold Zing and Cold 911 I’ve been drinking since the weekend. One to keep in mind for a flavoured white, though again, pity it’s so expensive.

drank Berry Poppins by DAVIDsTEA

This one had a weird flavour profile to me – apple and blackberry? It was good, just… unexpected. But that’s okay, as it’s nice to have a tea once in a while that doesn’t remind me of anything else. I had this one hot first, and I liked it, but I think I’m more excited to try it iced. Crossing fingers!

drank Berry Refreshing by DAVIDsTEA

I had this iced as a to go cup last night (unsweetened), and I must say… quite enjoyable. I think I’m becoming a little overwhelmed by berry teas – I love them, and I don’t want to sick of them, but I realised I have a lot of them in my collection already. Like a lot of my berry heavy teas, I’d be wary of trying this one hot, but I like the iced version – it reminded me of Redberry Tonic and Blue Lagoon, but was distinct enough (at least to me).

drank Irish Breakfast by DAVIDsTEA

I do love me a good, solid, straight black tea, and I am happy to say that I quite enjoy this one! Definitely a bold taste – I can certainly taste the Assam influence (which is a good thing), and it takes milk well. Only thing missing is I’d love to see an organic Irish Breakfast somewhere, but I’ll happily take this for this time being. Love that David’s isn’t entirely all about the flavoured stuff these days!

I went in on an order of Steeped Tea with a friend, and we split the free sample of this between us. I was happy to have it, as lime is one of my favourite tea flavours, and this one smelled really good. However, the taste was… not so much. Maybe I steeped it too long or the water was too hot, or something, but my first thought upon sipping was this “it reminds me of salmon”. A fishy taste is NOT what I should get from a green tea. >_> The fishy taste was still around as I made my way through the cup, and I really couldn’t shake it. Sad face. I still have some tea left, so I’ll try and make it again (or maybe iced?), but if I get the same taste, this one is definitely a miss for me.

I got this as a free sample as well. I personally did not get a fishy taste but I found the lime overwhelmed the taste of the green tea. I love just plain green tea, so this wasn’t my fav. It is nice iced, though. Just gotta be careful about infusion time.

drank Mint Matcha by DAVIDsTEA

I have never had matcha before tonight. I was vary of trying it, but hey, I figured that I ought to see what it was all about, and I figured trying a flavoured version might ease me into the world. I did like the addition of mint, as I’m not sure I would have been able to drink this unflavoured. I will try plain matcha one of these days just to say I have, but for now, I think I will stick to something like this. It’s a werid taste, unlike anything I’ve ever had in tea before, but it’s certainly not a bad one in my mind. It will take some getting used to, though.

drank Earl Grey Black by Teavana

When you’re in the mood for a straight up, plain, Earl Grey, this does the trick. It’s nothing spectacular, but it’s not terrible. I added milk and a little vanilla flavouring to make the quickie version of a London fog, which I think made this taste better than it would have if I had had it just with plain milk.

drank Licorice Twist by DAVIDsTEA

This tea confused me, haha. I was expecting a strong licorice taste (because, you know, the name kind of gave that vibe), but what I got was mostly sweet and mint and some spice combination towards the end of the cup (that was only faintly licorice). I got this to soothe my sore throat (and I already had ginger tea today, which is my usual remedy, and I don’t really like Bravissimo), so I had the lady at DT add honey to this. If I can make it taste similar at home, I’d consider getting it again.

I wanted to like this one better than I did… I didn’t really get much ginger taste until the end, sadly. For much of the rest of the cup, the ginger was almost a sweet taste, which was an odd flavour, to be sure. If I’m drinking a pure ginger tea, I like to be more on the potent side (since chances are high I’m not feeling the best). Again, I’m glad I tried this, but unless I steep it differently and that makes a difference, I’ll be sticking to Super Ginger.

drank Gyokuro Yamashiro by DAVIDsTEA

Another attempt to add a little more straight, green tea into my life, and another lovely taste. Perhaps a little too grassy for my ultimate liking, but this was pretty much what I expected it to be, and I certainly can’t fault it for that.
