57 Tasting Notes
I went into this one blind and wow is it good. The ultimate rich and nutty treat. The green base is perfectly light and complements the buttery flavor really nicely. I won’t be reaching for this one every day but it would be excellent for a comforting treat in the winter.
MELON!!!!! Sweet, juicy melon. This is really fantastic. If you or a distant cousin is even mildly indifferent towards the taste of honeydew pick this one up. It’s almost more flavorful than the actual fruit without tasting artificial at all. I’m totally sold on green rooibos now (or at least Lupicia’s offerings). I can’t wait to try it iced.
Flavors: Honeydew
I bought this despite never having liked eating smores. Teavana gives me the worst impulse control. I’m getting pretty strong “graham” flavors from this, accented by the chocolate and cinnamon. Strangely tastes like a watered down chocolate chai. If you’re into dessert teas you’d probably jive with this. If you legitimately like eating smores you’d probably like it even more. I won’t be repurchasing.
This one is… interesting. It’s a sweet and fruity taste with the slightest hint of tartness. I’m mostly picking up on the cherry. I’m not a huge fan of this one taste-wise. I’ll have to try all of these fruity tiesta teas iced because they’re just not doing it for me as a hot drink.
Dry this smells vaguely nutty and kind of like vanilla? I have no idea what ingredient is doing that. The taste I’m getting from it is like candied fruit. The pear flavor is strong but in my opinion it’s a little drowned out by the bite of the berry/papaya flavors. I’m starting to think that fruity herbals with nothing there to support it aren’t my thing.
The sheer range of Tiesta teas is what piqued my interest but I can’t say that I’ve enjoyed more than two or three of my ridiculous amount of samples. This is going in the swap pile.
This is incredibly simple and incredibly nice. I’m a huge fan of lemon and it really shines in this blend. I wasn’t expecting it to taste like its namesake with just two ingredients but the chamomile lends a creaminess to the taste. My sample will be going fast.
Flavors: Creamy, Lemon
I was wary about this tea because I’ve had yerba mate iced and I really hated it. I ordered a sample to give this a go and I am surprised to say that I REALLY like it. It’s a mixture of tangy, sweet, and earthy. The smell is pretty bad. It’s somewhere between baby powder and chocolate. If you power through that the taste and energy is worth it. I can definitely see this replacing coffee for me in the mornings. Another thing to be aware of is that this tea is DUSTY. I had to break out my infuser bags instead of using a metal one. I don’t mind it that much, that’s just how yerba and rooibos roll.
This is a really interesting tea. Brews to a shocking pink color. I added in some vanilla soy milk and it looks like I’m drinking paint water! Smells just like spiced apple. The taste is really full and creamy. It reminds me of candied almonds. Make sure you err on the side a fuller infuser, this can be pretty weak if you’re stingy.
