Dammann Freres advent is out now too – they switched up the box shape this year from the giant “sheet” it’s usually sold as, and the artwork is stunning.

TeeGschwender: https://www.teegschwendner.de/en/Tea-Advent-Calendar-2024/12509 (probably too expensive shipping across the pond, can do courier service if wanted, maybe cheaper)
The Tea Makers of London: https://www.theteamakers.co.uk/products/tea-advent-calendar
Vahdam Tea: https://www.vahdam.com/products/advent-calendar-24-tea-bags

Definitely more to be found :)

Lupicia is doing one… in Japan. :(

Fauchon has one as well, but it looks the same as last year. You might be able to find a US retailer, which is how I got it before.

Yawn Brew and Siam Tee at home :)

Yawn Brew was great as I paid the VAT and duties when placing the order, so it wasn’t stuck in customs at all. And it looks festive enough for me :)

The Tea Practitioner had an unflavoured tea calendar in 2023, but I’m not sure they’re doing it this year.

You can get 15% off the Nio Advent calendar with my referral code, which should be all over Steepster by now.

I’m rocking up to this (tea) party late, but finally in the headspace to pick out an advent calendar! What have people gotten so far and any favorites from last year? My favorite from last year was the F&M, which feels like a cop out, but they just had some really good ones. There was an apricot tea that was great and a few assam and darjeeling sachets (which are my favorites).

We decided to do the Fortnum advent with 24 tins of 25g each. This is our third time. They put a few new teas in this year. I have also done – and enjoyed – the one with single sachets. I liked the looks of the tea and biscuits advent that had two sachets per day and would have been perfect for me and my husband, but it was rather expensive for the amount you get and it sold out a couple of weeks ago.

I had the David’s Tea advent years ago and it was pretty good, and I bet 52 teas is great.

This year I’m going to try Bird and Blend.

I got the F&M one several years back (the simple one with a tea bag a day) and there were several repeats which was hugely disappointing. I did the MF one a couple years ago and it was heavy on the “love” blends. The Fauchon one didn’t have their unique blends that I like, heavy on their standards.

What I hope for in a good advent is a diverse representation of what a company has to offer and I feel like there are a lot of companies out there that put an advent together sort of as an afterthought. I do have hope that they will learn that it’s a great opportunity to be introduced to new potential customers and put more consideration into the teas they choose to put in them.

Kusmi was good and a fantastic value at $40 with two mini tins of tea, but I don’t get the impression they switch up the teas each year. Plum Deluxe had a good assortment of teas. Brutaliteas was fun. I got the David’s one AGES ago and that one was good. DF one is great for most people, but it taught me I’m not that into their flavorings.

I hope whatever you pick makes for a fun month of tea sipping!

Dustin – I agree. I was disappointed with the completely unnecessary duplicates in the F&M advent. They have so many good teas that would have gone in! Maybe they were too expensive and they put in duplicates of cheaper teas, but I would have welcomed Rose Pouchong or Fortmason or many others. I think this year there are 22 unique teas in the advent with Christmas Black and Christmas Green being duplicated which I can more or less understand since those are seasonal and if you love them and drink them a lot or serve them at gatherings during the holidays, you might indeed want more. I am glad they changed it up a little this year and put in a few of their teas I have never tried.

I attempted something like restraint this year, but it’s still probably too much. I got the Tea Thoughts winter box, the 52teas advent, the Plum Deluxe herbal Hanukkah sampler and herbal advent, and with any luck the Lupicia calendar. I’ve gotten all in previous years and liked enough to order again, except for the Lupicia which will be new to me. I would love to get The Tea Girl too, but she only ships within Canada.

AJRimmer said 7 months ago

Kaylee, what’s your secret for getting the Lupicia calendar shipped to the US??

Kaylee said 7 months ago

I have a friend in Japan who’s very kindly shipping it to me. There was an eBay listing at some point, though it seems to be gone now. It might pop up on eBay again once it’s actually released. I think that’s going to be on 11/22?

Kaylee said 7 months ago

It’s not an advent calendar per se, but there is a Christmas sampler available on the Lupicia US site: https://usa.lupicia.com/products/christmas-15-items-tea-bag-set

I am super jealous and excited for you with the Lupicia calendar! I can’t wait to read your reviews!

Compagnie & Co has an advent. Shipping to the states is almost as much as the advent. I haven’t tried their teas before, but there are a few reviews here.

I ended up ordering an advent from them and did not get an order confirmation email. Sent a message to customer service to make sure everything was a go and have not gotten a reply. Paypal took money out of my account tho. It’s getting awfully close to December at this point. Crossing fingers it arrives.

Martin Bednář said 7 months ago

Well, at least you are covered by Paypal in case of any issue.

Dustin said 7 months ago

Yeah… it’s such a hassle and disappointment tho.

Skysamurai said 7 months ago

You can order one from me and I’ll give you some extra stuff :D
