These tea “balls” are not as tightly rolled as most I’ve seen in the past. Closer to the snail like shape of other varieties.

The color is a medium-straw and flavor is mild, smooth, and slightly smoky without an aftertaste. It doesn’t have any qualities that make me prefer it over others, but it isn’t bad either.

Heady aroma of jasmine on the first inhale with the slightest hint of an earthy green behind.

The flavor is very pleasantly mild: no astringency from the jasmine. Overall, very gentle and smooth with more aroma from the jasmine than flavor.

Aroma of wet aged grass and loam

Flavor is much improved by lower steep time: higher steep times result in a loam-like flavor I found to be very unpleasant. Short steep times still have a slight aftertaste of loam, but the main flavor is smooth, grassy, and autumnal.

Would only recommend provisionally

Dark golden tea with a warm, almost leathery aroma.

The first sip is almost shockingly sweet: reminiscent of honey. Warm dry grass on the follow through with a clean finish.

The scent of this tea in the bag or canister is overwhelmingly fruity, so trying it seemed like a jump.

Once brewed, however, the scent mellows and the flavors blend beautifully. The first aroma is fruit (apple and plum) blended with cinnamon. As time goes on, you begin to pick up ginger and a touch of the currant. The flavor is wonderfully mild: apple and plum on the front note with the spices blending in as you inhale over your tongue.

Flavors: Apple, Black Currant, Cinnamon, Ginger, Plum

I’m not usually a fan of black tea, and the first time I fixed this I overbrewed it, which didn’t help.

However, with a lower temperature and shorter steep time, this is a truly beautiful tea. The aroma is pure tea leaf, and the flavor is mild, smooth, and pure. Best of all, it has no harsh aftertaste.

My go-to tea for almost any occasion. Slightly sweeter than rooibos and absolutely impossible to overbrew. I’ve had it from other brands before, but the honeybush I get from Design a Tea has a clearer taste than others.

Flavors: Rooibos, Smooth, Sweet

This is hands down the best sleepy time tea I’ve ever had. The flavor is very mild, almost grassy, and has no unpleasant or peculiar aftertastes. Very good with a small drop of honey to round out the flower/grass profile.

By and large, it does require a substantial steep time to get a really good flavor, but that’s also nice because you aren’t drinking it uncomfortably hot.
