237 Tasting Notes
When I was a girl, my mother always made me eat kiwis. But she liked them hard and unripe, so I always disliked kiwis until I had them the way I thought they should be eaten, as an adult. A friend of mine would eat it with the skin and I thought it was so weird. Until I tried it. It’s actually really good and not at all what one would expect.
So anyway, Virginia’s kiwi memories aside, the dry leaf smells A-MAZING. It smells juicy and sweet, the kiwi is perfect. I won’t lie, I’ve been a bit “meh” about some of the Lupicia teas mj and I ordered, and this one is restoring my faith. Taste wise, I’m completely 100% satisfied. YES! YOU! JUICY KIWI! I love you :)
And the last of my carnival teas! The dry leaf smells exactly like a cherry slushie so I just had to make this iced. The end result really does taste like a cherry snowcone, minus all the sugar. I used 3 perfect tea spoonfuls and I think I could’ve added one more just to get that perfect flavour intensity. I love slushies but the mix of sweet and sour and cold really hurts my teeth, so this is extra awesome! The cherry is bold and the hibiscus gives it a nice tartness. Yum,
Yet another carnival tea!!! I was excited for this one, it smells like something I want to eat: cinnamon, caramel popcorn, butter…Mmmm…Taste wise, the caramel tones are nice, and the cinnamon is tame. There is a slight buttery je-ne-sais-quoi, but I wish there was a bit more to be honest. Go big or go home :P All in all, a pleasant cup, although I wouldn’t instantly run to the store to get more if I suddenly ran out.
Another from David’s Tea carnival collection! This tea is very strange, because I love the root beer taste that pops up in the middle of the sip, then fades. The creamy vanilla is also very good, but what makes it strange is the cinnamon taste. It’s not just cinnamon. It’s like chewing a piece of cinnamon gum for a really long time. You know when most of the intense flavour is gone, but there is still a hint left in your gum and you can mostly taste faded cinnamon and well, gum… I like that taste personally. But maybe not so much in my tea. In the end, it does taste somewhat like root beer but I really wouldn’t say a root beer float. Maybe I’ll add a bit of milk next time to see… Must try this as iced tea. I did add some sweetener. Because, come on…Root Beer Float. That s just begging for extra sugar.
Oh and my new pearl 12oz timolino is sexy. That is all :P
When I walked in to David’s tea, I felt like I was in a candy store: bright colours everywhere, the wonderful smell of cotton candy and giggly people everywhere. The place was packed but nothing could stop me from getting every tea from the carnival collection (except for lemonade – ew).
This is a well executed tea, as long as you drink it at the right temperature. When it is warmer, there’s citrus notes at the beginning of the sip followed by a wonderful cotton candy yumminess. As it cools down, it’s more like sweet water than anything else. It doesn’t beat 52teas Cotton Candy, but I’m a major fan of cotton candy and this works for me :)
OOOoooOooh this is GOOD! Yummy caramel and cream, what a great way to start my day. Thank you so much mj!
This one and the momo oolong are my favorites so far!
