I tend to like Qi Lan rock oolongs. While the profile is to my liking here too, the tea is somewhat basic overall. The aromas are really good, but the rest of the experience is lacking. That is certainly not surprising given its price though.
From the dry leaves, I get perfumy and floral notes of orchid, cherry wood, chocolate, as well as decaying wood interestingly. During the session, aromas of fireplace, forest, wetlands, cherry blossom, and candle emerge.
The taste is woody with a decent bitterness like that of walnut shells. The liquor is certainly on the thin side here and the minerality is also not too pronounced.
