Overall I enjoyed this tea. I would suggest at least two steeps on this before tossing. Third steep was kind of boring. You taste more Pomegranate than Oolong flavor in my opinion. It is a lighter Oolong too.

I would consider this a pretty good choice but not something to run out and buy for your cupboard. If you know good tea, then I doubt you will consider this a personal favorite. If you are looking for something fruity and don’t want to be risky, this is probably a fair choice.

I really like this tea! I have had far worse Sencha and slightly better Sencha. This falls somewhere in the high middle. I do understand that you can find better Sencha for roughly the same price elsewhere but overall I wouldn’t shy away from this tea…However, you might want to shy away from Teavana if you can. Last tasting notes before I go on a Teavana rant: Medium full body, vegetal, green, nutty. ( I seem to be one of the only ones who tastes any nuttiness in this) Maybe my taste buds are off?

Okay, here was my Teavana experience. I am certainly not mad, but I feel like it is humorous, and I should share.

I arrive and everything seems nice. When I ask to smell the tea, the two employees working literally had a minor argument on who should help me….awkward. One finally rolled her eyes and sludged to get the tea.

After trying to spark up a conversation about the tea it was clear she had little knowledge of tea and was completely unaware that Sencha comes from Japan. Seemed pretty basic to me. I tried to describe the smell of a different green tea and was having some trouble. I asked her what she thought. She said it’s “too hard to explain”.

I left feeling like I got a decent tea but certainly didn’t gain any knowledge which is something I am always looking for when I visit a tea shop.

I am confused about this tea. Maybe someone can help me out. I am not sure if it is actually the Ti Kuan Yin which is from China or the Ti Kwan Yin. The place I bought it from has it written Ti Kwan Yin. However, I am having trouble finding anything out (google) about a tea called “Ti Kwan Yin” but there is an abundance of info on the Ti Kuan Yin Oolong. Hmmmm? Any help?

Anyhow, the tea I am drinking is a little sweet, has a relatively full body and has a vegetal taste to it that lingers beyond the first sip. This tea will go bitter quickly so be aware! I am using a gaiwan which is why I only used 3 tsp of water. Lots of steeps with this Oolong.

I am not going to lie, the smell of this tea is a little strong and it can put my off a little. However, it really brews nicely. I have never enjoyed a tea similar to this blend. VERY strong smokey flavor.

They don’t call this three fragrant cups for no reason, it really does have three distinct flavors. The first one is my personal favorite, however plenty of people will argue the second and third are their favorites. It really depends if you prefer the piney taste or the sweet taste. The first steep gives you the pine and the second and third are a little more mild and sweet. Regardless, every steep is worth a taste but some people will actually pour out the first steep because they prefer the sweet and mild.

This smells sweet and has a little bit of a malty taste. It is very smooth. It can be a little strong but that depends how you like your tea!

This is a wholesome, nutty tea. It is blended with toasted brown rice and infused with Matcha green tea. This is the best tea I have ever had. Nice silky green color and perfect nutty taste. This is a MUST have in your cupboard if you like matcha. Careful not to over steep this one. It only takes a minute.

Nice tasty herbal tea that is famously known as the base ingredient for root beer. I enjoy to steep this herbal for extra-long to bring out a strong earthy/root beer flavor. I prefer this beverage at night for a dessert.
