I purchased this at Whole Foods from the serve-yourself bins. It smelled really heavy in the store, which is something I love with cinnamon teas. I have to comment that this is much better as a mixer than by itself. I’m trying it with all of my heavier flavored blacks and finding really great results. It is very cinnamon forward, with notes of anise as well. I made sure to get some larger pods in here. It’s a pretty great tea if you are looking for something really heavy on the cinnamon, but isn’t really a big standout or anything special.

Wohoooo! This is my 500th tasting note!
And what a great tea to be sipping. The leaves of this tea are such a deep, jade color. You can tell just from looking and smelling this that the liquor will be vibrant. The smell and taste remind of me of heady flower scents, mainly honeysuckle. There is something almost powder-like about the mouth feel of this tea; I wonder if I’m the only one who gets that from this one? This tea is very smooth and flavorful, even at a 1min. steep time. Very green, floral, very subtly sweet.

Congratulations! This tea is really very delicious, but unfortunately it is out of stock now.

Sounds like, for now, I will have to horde the bit that I still have sealed then! :3

I believe I may have been a bit harsh in my first review of this tea. This is yet another single-bag sample from Adagio. This is really not as good as the other chamomile I tried recently. Mainly because this one seemed to have more of a grassy/hay-like flavor than the general store brand. Also, the bags for this are huge; seriously, if anything, I may have had too much of the dry chamomile to begin with. I love the amber color, honey notes, and the instant soothing effect that it is having on my tummy ache. So I’m very drawn about this one. I’m actually really thankful that they included a sample for free and would really be interested in tasting this compared to their loose leaf variety; mainly to play with ratios.

Sipdown!
I actually really enjoyed this one. It is a light chocolate tea that reminds me of jelly rolls. This tea could have used something to ground it a bit more; maybe a stronger black base? I tend to enjoy my chocolate teas with dark bases.

I’ve never logged this one? Maybe it got eaten! Well, it’s already time for a sipdown!
This tea has been an interesting journey for me. It is very, very easy to oversteep. I generally let my boiling water cool for a short time before steeping. Even then, I only steep this for 3min. maximum. The brew is an extremely deep, spiced cuppa. The “pumpkin” is, well, interesting. I don’t know if it screams pumpkin pie to me or anything, but it is an interesting try. The caramel tea in this is probably the least prominent of the flavors. This tea is very, hm, verbose. It is a dark, full bodied tea that is a good pick me up in the morning.

Ugh. My tap water quality is dismal lately. Seriously, I just want one pot of tea today to turn out right.
So I got another addition to my Adagio horoscope collection! I’m still going to peddle the fact that these are a great deal. The tins are pretty, tea is good, and there is a lot of it.
This one though is a little less stellar to me than the others that I have tried. It is a bit fruity and herbal-esque, but nothing really stands out in it. I’m going to play with steep times and leaf amount to see if I can’t tease some more flavor out of this.

I’ve only ever had bagged or mixed chamomile teas, and never on its own, so adventure time!
I received this as a sample in my most recent Adagio order (bagged). This smells mainly of honey. It is really lovely. But the bags are kinda crazy. It looked liked it actually had enough product for 2 cups of tea instead of just 1. The bags are also pretty large and didn’t fit well in my cup.
This tastes pretty woodsy to me. There is some of that honey flavor, but it is in the background. I think that next time I make this, I’ll use twice the water, as I think it’ll help mellow the really intense flavors out.
Not something I’m totally into, but good for avoiding caffeine.

This really mostly tastes of mint and chamomile. I wish the mint was stronger though, it tastes less-than-fresh to me? Maybe I’m just a mint snob!
Not really noticing it making me any more sleepy. In the future I think I’d pass this one up for just plain mint (it’d be cheaper).

Such a beautiful tea! I love opening the tin I have this in and taking a deep breath. It is bright smells of lychee, melon, and somehow, something akin to springwater.
Flavor wise, it is also excellent with lots of melon notes. I normally steep this 3 times. I really have enjoyed this tea.

I tried this at a higher temp and longer steep time and really didn’t care for it as much. For me, the perfect temp is somewhere between 200-180F at 3-4 min.
The flavors are leather, nuts, smoke, and general manliness. This fits the character perfectly and I actually enjoy this on special occasions.
