15074 Tasting Notes
Goodbye dear english toffee matcha. You have been a delight to drink in the mornings :) I would buy this again, though i don’t think it will have a permanent place in my home for the sheer sake that I’m finding myself drawn to fruit matcha in summer and more coffee/mocha type matcha in winter. English toffee is a treat that I’ll have once in a while when i want to revist an old friend.
tried this tonight, even though i know better and normally leave franks teas to sit for a few weeks to settle in. Just really wanted to get a sense as to whether i WILL enjoy it or not. I’m leaning towards enjoying it as a fun cup to drink occasionally, but time will tell once this has had a chance to really settle. :)
Sorta-related story. I gave my boyfriend cotton candy matcha to try, and now every time he has a different matcha flavor he says, “this tastes like cotton candy”. Lol.
Had this one as a comparison with Butiki’s genmaicha and I think i prefer both her version and the one from verdant much better if i’m going to be drinking this type of tea. There’s nothing wrong with this one exactly, but when doing a direct comparison, this one is inferior to butiki’s.
This is a terrific vanilla matcha. Especially when adding to other flavours for that extra kick of creamy goodness. I’ve had this a few times but haven’t logged it as it’s usually been an addition to another matcha smoothie. I’ll do a full write up soon on this one but it’s for sure a reorder whenever i end up getting through this one.
Really enjoyed this one, though I think i’m just not overly a fan of genmaicha. It’s more of a have once in a while tea than an every day sort of tea. I really like the smoothness of stacy’s version though so i may have to order a small bag of this for those times when i DO want this type of tea.
Thank you indigobloom for this sample. It’s quite delicious! and that’s pretty high praise as i don’t love a lot of greens. I’m not sure if this would have a permanent place in my in my cupboard as I tend to stick with blacks. BUT if there was a green to stay in my cupboard, this would probably be it. It’s not very vegetal at all, which is what i really enjoy about this green. mmmm looking forward to additional steeps of this! Thanks Indigobloom!
Just tracking tea drinking… I’ve been, over the holidays, drinking the samples that Stacy provided to me for the strawberry Rhubarb pie blend that won her contest. I’ve been trying to spend some time drinking both versions to get a sense as to which one i prefer, and which captures that strawberry rhubarb pie essence. It’s looking like the one with hibiscus may yet win out, which i know may have a few ppl questioning trying the blend, but i promise if it does get added to the blend it will be in moderation lol. Anyway it always amazes me how stacy (butiki teas) can so amazingly capture flavours. I’m having a blast with this blend, so much so that I may need to do another custom blend from her sometime in the future!
Ahhhhh! Sil’s Morning Matcha! I look forward to them! :)
haha it’s how you can tell i’m back at work after the holidays :)
That AND that we are usually among the steepsters that are on the east coast that are AWAKE :)
true, though I always feel like i post on here really late considering i get up, make my tea, drink it on the way to work and then do a write up when i get a second in the morning after cleaning up things around here.
