Sample from Shae, thanks! This is quite smooth for a full Assam and small leaf blend. After seeing the other reviews I only brewed this for 2 minutes. Its still quite tasty and strong even at a short steep, not as malty as I’d like for an Assam but the caramel and mineral notes come through. The second steep isn’t weak, but the flavor seems to be smoothed away; its rather uninteresting. Its not bad for an Assam blend but not something I need in my cupboard.

I got a sample of this Darjeeling BOP Blend in a recent Upton order and this is the closest entry I found so here is my tea note.
This very small leaf expanded a lot in the pot and contributed to the bitterness in the cup. That being said there is a nice nutty flavor at the end of each sip. It is less bitter as it cools, and the last cup from the pot wasn’t bitter at all, it was quite smooth.
Second steep was again bitter and not nutty. Not sure I need a darjeeling that is so finicky to brew.

I like the idea of this tea, blending 4 teas together to meld their flavors. But it just washes out each of the individual tea flavors and what’s left is a rather uninteresting tea. I tried a bit more leaf this morning and while the first steep was a bit mineral, it was smooth and not bitter. Smooth is usually good but I was left hoping for a bit more taste. The second steep was just too weak. I would add it to an order as an afterthought, but I wouldn’t seek this out again.

Roasty and nutty with a hint of chocolate. I brewed this one western style and its getting nuttier as it cools. It reminds me of an almond/peanutty version of Big Red Robe. The second, western brew is a bit weaker, but still pleasantly nutty.

This tea smells awesome, as if I’ve just been in the kitchen cooking apples and cinnamon, with a good whiff of maple syrup too. As for the taste, I’m wondering if I used enough leaf because I find myself wanting more, more cinnamon or more apple or more both. The maple syrup is quite tasty but its suffering from my mental comparison to Cuppa Geek’s Morning Waffles. I’ll try again with more leaf and less water and I’ll add a sample to my next S&V order to experiment with. Thanks Shae for sharing this yummy tea.

Got a sample of this and I’m glad I did. Dry leaf smells like chocolate malt. The first steep is roasty, nutty, with a tinge of tobacco and a bit of chocolate malt as it cools. A bit astringent when its hotter, but sweeter and smoother as it cools off. Its interesting enough to be a tea I could reach for when I’m bored of my daily drinkers, but not so fancy that I put it in the back of my cupboard for saving. The second steep seems a bit weaker, but is still quite nutty and malty. My dad quite liked this one and I dare say it rivals the Imperial Lapsang he likes so much from Upton.

Raspberry fruity sweet on the first steep with some notes of cotton candy flavor. Can’t taste the black tea base, but that’s ok, I’m not sure it would add much. Second steep is tart lime with less sweetness. Its like two different teas for the price of one when you steep it twice. I’ll enjoy the rest of the pouch but it’s not one I’ll need to purchase again.

A nice smooth blend of black tea. There’s a metallic taste from the Assam that makes it interesting but not bitter. The finish is slightly nutty. A decent black tea blend that brewed up strong and robust. I’d be tempted to purchase again.

The irish breakfast base is underneath chocolate and caramel with a hint of cream. The chocolate isn’t artificial tasting, and the tea is very smooth. It’s not my very favorite Cuppa Geek tea, but I’d certainly be tempted to order more. I do use a bit more leaf for this one, and while it seems to disappear from my mug quite readily, its not that memorable of a cup.

You have to be in the mood for syrupy sweet maple to enjoy this tea. There may be a hint of cinnamon or cake batter, but oh so much maple.
I just have to admire a flavored tea that steeps three times and is just as good on the third steep as the first. Thank you Nicole for making such a yummy blend!
