Advent tea
Wow this is sweet. What a nice fruity, honey oolong. I’ve been stuck in Big Red Robe land too long and have forgotten that oolongs can be tasty without too much flowery pomp and circumstance. The first steep tastes like honeydew melon. Second steep is just as sweet and honey melon as the first. Thanks for sharing Lexie!
Sky samurai and I must be on the same wavelength because just as I went to add this tea to the database, I find it’s already there! I have under leafed this a few times, so today I put 1.5 tsp for 8 oz of water and got more flavor from these tightly rolled tea nuggets. I like that it’s forgiving, you can let it steep longer without getting bitter. It’s not very complex, chocolate yeasty malt is the best descriptor, no undertones or lingering aftertaste. A straightforward tea that is a step down from Happy Lucky’s Golden Monkey, one of my favorites.
Flavors: Chocolate, Malt, Yeasty
Advent tea
A nice mild but warming cup with orange, clove, and pepper spices. A fall spice pallet, without the cinnamon. Easy to drink, not fussy to brew, I’d certainly enjoy more of this tea if I had the chance, boy my list of new to me tea companies keeps growing.
I’ve been traveling and when I got back to my tea cupboard, this is the tea I’ve picked first. A delightfully balanced blend where you can taste the black tea on the first steep, but the cinnamon and vanilla are the stars here. This will go for three steeps with the vanilla becoming prominent on the third steep. A nice warming, wintertime tea that I’ll need to replace in my cupboard.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Vanilla
Advent tea
More flowery than fruity but still a mild and enjoyable cup. Not astringent or bitter but not very flavorful either. Thanks for letting me try a bergamot tea that I wouldn’t buy on my own, that’s what advent season is about!!
Flavors: Floral, Fruity, Smooth
Advent tea
The first steep was very dark and chicory flavored with only a hint of mint. A bit too bitter for me, not chocolate at all. The second steep I added a bit of spearmint and it was still heavily chicory and woody flavored. An interesting blend, but maybe I need a bit less leaf and more mint to get the flavors to blend well.

Tea from Lexie has been awesome so far, and this one is great too. I’m more of a hot tea drinker, so I might not be tempted to purchase this one, but I’m glad I got to try it. As the first steep cooled it became more tart and raspberry in flavor. I’m not getting much of the black base or a ‘cake’ vibe to it, I’m guessing they were going for a fruity taste on a sponge cake. Interesting tea, yummy for an advent!
Flavors: Raspberry, Tart
I opened up my bag of this one to send you some but haven’t tried it yet. Glad you enjoyed it! I’ll have to try a cup sometime this week.
