73 Tasting Notes
I love oolong… I love coconut… I love white chocolate… so yeah, it was obvious that I was gonna like it. I preferred the old coconut oolong, though. I still have some so I can compare and I found that the flavour of the old one was a bit better and the 2nd steep was also good. This one is less interesting to resteep.
I haven’t rated a tea in a while, but this one is worth the effort. I wasn’t so sure about the smell, but I really enjoy the taste. I always drink a soothing tea before I go to bed and I was becoming a bit bored of drinking the same teas. This one is a very interesting addition to my collection and I REALLY hope the company will keep this tea in the permanent collection.
Flavors: Honey
I was just working on a text and I suddenly found it. The taste of this tea. I FOUND IT. It has the taste of a green flat lollipop. Without the sugar, of course. I could say it tastes like a childhood Halloween. I was always SO happy when I could get rare candy colors in my bag. Green was one of them, along with the pink and whites. Red, orange and yellow were way too common. It’s like a boring common item in a video game. I could recommend this tea if you like green lollipops. That’s about it. Green lollipops. But it can be cool, you know, when you feel like eating candies.
Flavors: Artificial, Candy
I received this one as a sampler and, as soon as I opened the package, I KNEW I had to buy some. Its smell is strong and awesome :D Also, the taste reminds me of Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait. It’s excellent cold and hot. I would suggest a stronger steep since the recommended quantity makes it a bit weak. Just a bit. Also, maybe it could use a subtle sweetness, but it’s not a big deal.
Flavors: Coconut, Strawberry, Tart
Before I say anything else, I saw some reviews (don’t remember where) saying that this tea was similar to Blue Lagoon. I had a lot of hope that it would be because I LOVED Blue Lagoon. I didn’t even have the time to order some when it came back for a limited time. :/ Anyway.
Berry Refreshing does NOT taste like Blue Lagoon. If you are looking to buy it because you think it will, you will be disappointed.
Otherwise, without comparing it, it’s a good tea. It tastes like tart berries with a sweet side. I think you get what the ingredients announce. It’s no big surprise. But I like it and I may buy it again.
I bought that tea, thinking I would be crazy about it because I love peach tea and, let’s be honest, peach and nectarines are quite similar. It’s not bad, it’s just that I didn’t get the nectarine part. It could have been named “some fruit tea”. It’s very okay, it’s tasty and I’m gonna drink what I bought but I don’t find its “little something”. I don’t think I’m gonna buy this one again.
UPDATE : I found a weird aftertaste after trying it again hot steeped but cooled after that. It was very unpleasant to me. I’m gonna drop the rating for that. When I drank another glass from the same pitcher, the aftertaste wasn’t there anymore. That’s nice, but I expect to drink a good iced tea every time, not only from the second half of a pitcher.
I wanted to try this tea because I’m always looking for new teas to drink before bed. I don’t always sleep well and a relaxing drink is always welcome. At first, I was afraid that the rose taste would be too much. My conclusion is that I found the tea to be more fruity than floral. It was good and I could taste the sour raisin that I also found in Green Passionfruit.
The downside of this tea is that its flavour seemed overwhelming to me. I had a hard time finishing my cup because, after half of it, I had had enough. Maybe I’ll try steeping it weaker next time.
Of course, when I don’t finish a cup of tea, I put it in the fridge so I can drink it later. Once it had cooled, I had a sip. I found it better because it had lost some strength.
I’d say cold wins over hot for this one.
Am I gonna buy again? We’ll see.
