Suffice it to say it’s been a long week. Today being Friday (finally offering an opportunity to chill and de-stress), a friend and I decided to check out Tea’se Tea Shoppe after work. We only work a mile down the road, so it was quite easy to walk there. It’s an adorable shop. After sniffing nearly everything on offer, I finally settled on 2 oz of this tea, along with 4 oz of their Tiramisu.
This tea is a delight! I’m a sucker for almond in teas, and this one did not disappoint. The dry aroma gives off plenty of roasted almond, along with some apple and spice. The aroma after brewing was much the same. It tastes delicious. I added some rock sugar in for sweetness, but the almond and licorice make this tea sweet enough on its own – next time, I’ll try it without sugar. Since rooibos is its base, it’s a great dessert tea. Overall: yum!!

Flavors: Almond, Apple, Ginger, Licorice

Preparation
Boiling 7 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

If you count the bagged stuff, I’ve been a tea drinker for a long time. I first discovered the joys of loose leaf on a trip to London in 2014, and it’s all been downhill from there. I’m still in the phase where I want to try everything, and I’m still developing my tea personality.

Types of tea / tisanes I gravitate toward: black, green oolong, Japanese green, flavored teas (sweet, floral, fruity, minty, complex, you name it), rooibos, roasted mate, and many herbal and fruit combos.

Teas I need to try, try again, or keep trying: white, pu erh, dark oolong, pure Chinese green, mate

I’ll update soon with my rating system!
