This tea was bitter, astringent, and very malty in a bad sort of way. I will eventually brew it again with lower temperature water and see if it improves. I won’t be buying this again in any case. I wish I hadn’t bought 4 ounces. Brewed it with boiling water, five minute steep and three tsp tea for 18 oz water.

Preparation
Boiling 5 min, 0 sec 3 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML

I can’t really taste the rooibos here but I taste the black tea. I is decent but not incredible. Someone who likes flavored black/rooibos will like it. It has notes of what I would describe as burnt sugar. I brewed it at 205 degrees with 3 tsp of leaf in an 18 oz stump tea pot.

Flavors: Brown Sugar

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 5 min, 0 sec 3 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML

I can taste the notes of prunes that a previous reviewer gave this tea. It is decent but not incredible. It has a decent depth of flavor but does not stand out as the best. I brewed this tea for 20 sec with 13g leaves in a 10 oz tea mug. I might buy it again. It would not have been worth a lot of money but is good for the price.

I brewed this in a 10oz mug with 12.5g of leaf and boiling water for 15 sec. It is good. It is slightly more bitter than sweet but has a lingering aftertaste. It has notes of plums or something similar, hard to describe. It is a worthwhile tea for the price.

drank Ontario Icewine by Discover Teas

I brewed this tea western style with slightly more volume of leaf because it is very light weight leaf. Three minutes at 175 degrees with 5 tsp of leaf for 18 oz. IT is quite tasty. It is sweet and slightly sour, sour like sour grapes. It is made with the flavor of frozen grapes. It is much better that the other icewine tea I have tasted, from Darlene’s Tea Port. Discover Teas has so far the best icewine tea I’ve had with no chemical flavor or off taste.

Flavors: White Grapes

Preparation
175 °F / 79 °C 3 min, 0 sec 5 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML

This tea is one of my favorites. It has a touch of natural sweetness and no bitterness or astringency. It has notes of dates or such under the tongue. I brewed this with 12.5 g in 18 oz water for 25 sec. Water temp was boiling.

Flavors: Dates

This tea is tasty. I brewed it at 175 degrees with three teaspoons of leaves for 18 oz. I gave it 3 min. The jasmine flavor is quite prominent. There is both a taste and separate aftertaste of the Jasmine. The flavor of the tea itself is just a little weak, not exactly off, just weak and missing some flavor. Still, I am glad I bought it.

I immediately notice the taste of the berries in this cup. It is nice and full bodied. The flavor of the tea itself could be a little stronger but it is good. It is worth buying again.

This is a tasty ripe puerh with pronounced notes of either apricots or dates etc. I brewed this twice in a small tea steeping mug with 13g of tea and 10 oz water. It has a nice sweet flavor. Its not as complex as the Mandala Noble Mark cake but is quite tasty.

Flavors: Apricot

Preparation
Boiling 0 min, 15 sec 13 g 10 OZ / 295 ML

I am Allan. I live and work in Long Island, New York. I have been amassing a tea collection for nearly two years and have spent way too much money. I now try to buy mostly Puerh as I like it most and it lasts nearly forever. Black tea has a habit of going bad. If anyone is interested in tea swaps I am open to ideas and have quite a cupboard.
