I’m working my way through a sample pack of Kusmi Russian teas. I find this Earl Grey light and elegant. I added milk and sugar (as I normally do for Earl Greys) but this might be fine without milk as well.

Flavors: Citrus, Floral

I adore Kusmi’s Russian blends, and I can never make my mind up about which I like most… This one is high on the list, and is indeed lovely taken plain.

Everybody needs a thneed… ;)

Did not like this at all. Not the smell of the dry tea, or the smell/taste of it hot or iced.

Something in this tastes really off to my palate, which made this undrinkable for me. Sometimes melon flavours taste/smell off to me, so this may be just a personal preference thing. However, I loved Cantaloupe Ice and Sour Watermelon was fine too. This contains hibiscus and stevia, which I often see other people dislike, but I don’t have an issue with. Maybe it’s the combination of carrot and watermelon flavours? As I recall, last year’s Luscious Watermelon had carrot in it as well, and I didn’t care for that.

I got this as part of the Oasis Collection box (which also includes 10 sticks of agave and a 20% off coupon :) ), and this was the first tea I tried from the collection.

I liked this more than I thought I would based on the ratings. It’s drinkable plain, but I prefer it with some brown sugar. It steeps a nice orange colour, and reminds me of drinking a hazelnut latte (minus the coffee flavour obviously).

Also I’m not a big peanut fan, and this tea smells just like peanuts (although I think it is made with almonds and hazelnuts). And yet I like it anyways. It’s one of those flavours that satisfies my savoury and sweet cravings at the same time. I might actually pick up a big bag of this before it goes away since I assume it won’t be back next year.

I tried a sample of this tea in store Friday afternoon and loved it so much that I just went ahead and bought the limited edition holiday tin. It’s so strongly flavoured and creamy (for a tea) that it reminds me of drinking eggnog.

I brewed this at home using about 3-4 spoonfuls of tea in a Davidstea Nordic mug, and added a couple spoons of sugar (I really have a sweet tooth—this tea doesn’t really need sugar at all, but I like it extra sweet). The first steeping tasted pretty similar to the store sample. The second steeping definitely had less flavour and I wouldn’t try a third steeping.
