From Zhi Tea

Runner-up in the 2009 Austin Oolong Taste Competition
One of our Artisan Reserve organic oolong teas, a line of small batch handmade teas from a craft handed down over generations. Hand selected for having all the hallmark qualities of the highest grades with notable personality accents.

This is a tea from spring 2009, stored in vacuum seal. A rare organic Four Season Oolong from a small artisan farm in Taiwan. The Four Season tea varietal is relatively new and was created to not only withstand climatic changes, but produce abundant sweet tasting product.

This batch superseded two dozen other batches we tried. A very affordable and exquisite oolong tea.

Lightly roasted (15%) and perfectly sweet, this oolong reveals itself over several steepings. Hand crafted and grown organically in Taiwan and certified MOA.

Two veeery different approaches to this one:
Western (6 g to 16oz water @205F for 3’) will give you very floral notes with touches of peach and nectarine on the back end.
Gong fu (6 g to 3.5 oz water @195F for 1.5 min, then 30 sec steeps afterwards) will give very vegetal front that flows into a very bread-y, cinnamon toast crunch-ish sort of finish.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Floral, Peach, Vegetal
