Got a few of these packets in a sample box from the Republic. Seems like a good way to go if you wanna taste some of their newer bagged teas. Tho I prefer loose leaf, sometimes a bag is nice and convenient…especially at 2:30 in the morning when you want a little cup of something hot and kinda sweet.

Anyway, sipping on this one now. I dunno what it is with the cuppa line here. I think it’s the rooibos.

Anyway, dry it smells like artificial chocolate and mint. Sweet mint and not grassy which is nice. and of course the rooibos.

Steeped tho, all I can really smell is the rooibos with a hint of chocolate….artificial chocolate I might add.

Sipping, the rooibos is center, then chocolate. The mint is almost like an after taste. Which is sad because it’s a lovely delicate mint. It isn’t grassy or pungent. It’s like a lovely vanilla mint. And that’s the best part of this blend….and it’s more like an after thought.

It could have been better.

I added a little milk to cream it up which helps it feel more substantial. But I’ll be looking for a different chocolate mint tea. I’m expecting one from Butiki Monday. Can’t wait.

I don’t mind rooibos,in fact I think it’s quite delightful in a few of my favorite herbals, but I think it isn’t the best base for a chocolate tea.

Just brewed this one now. This is a good day for hot tea. It is -7 F with a wind chill of -39, and a blizzard warning until 6pm. There was a funeral scheduled this afternoon at my church and I am helping to coordinate the coffee/desserts for the visitation time, but it was postponed. Part of me is sorry it was postponed, but I suspect the crowd would have been quite small. And in my heart I am glad to not have to go anywhere in this mess!

I learned from my last RoT cup and used a 6 oz cup this time. The flavor was good. I could kinda taste the chocolate and the peppermint was present too. A nice little dessert cup. Not one I will buy a tin of but a nice treat on a cold windy day in North Dakota.

RoT’s 12 Days of Sipping, day 9. The first whiff of this dry blend was awful. It smelled spoiled. It quickly passed and then it smelled like it’s supposed to smell, but that first impression, wow, I have no idea what happened there.

All three flavours are present in equal measure: rooibos, peppermint (more candy cane than actual mint), and chocolate—and all three are equally muted. The end result is just okay. I imagine using two tea bags would’ve been better, but that doubles the price of the tea, and it’s just not worth it. I’m not adding a separate note for the sweetened, creamer version, because it wasn’t significantly different: as expected, the sweetener was kind of nice; the creamer (coconut milk) would’ve probably been wonderful if the flavours were bolder, but as it is it just obscured what little flavour was there.

I taste the peppermint, but the chocolate is very subtle. It wasn’t what I was expecting and it was ultimately disappointing. Basically a smooth mint flavor. I may try doubling up the bags to see if it helps bring out more of the chocolate flavor.

I have to hide this one. When I observe the specified water/tea bag ratio, it’s really good. A great cup in the evening, and too many friends and family agree. I am under a self-imposed (though loosely regarded) buying freeze, and I need this to last a little while.

Chocolaty, minty, and deliciously creamy.

I just love this tea with all of my heart. I use it when I’m feeling the hankering for hot chocolate but don’t need all the sugar from hot chocolate and it pleases every time.

Saw this in the store and it looked interesting. However, while it is not all bad it has it’s faults. It’s chocolate taste is stronger than it’s peppermint taste. It’s peppermint taste is barely there at all. It just doesn’t have strong enough taste of either one. I brewed it with three tea bags for I am guessing 5 minutes. I lost track of time and don’t really know how long I brewed it. It’s not really bad but there is just not enough peppermint to it.

I think I actually like this less as a latte. It almost tastes more artificial this way, although I guess I did use two tea bags this time, so that might explain it.

I’ve bought this twice, because it’s pretty satisfying as a dessert tea, and it’s caffeine-free.
