The base here tastes a little too much like bitter coffee, but it still tastes good with some extra sweetener and soy milk. I also taste a bit of dessertiness, but it’s not very specific. I can taste a little nuttiness, but not the maple mentioned on the bag. This did grow on me over the course of the 1 oz bag though.

Steepster is stuck again!

I want to try some of these less-available-via-retail varieties as soon as I make space…(read that: build on a solarium/tea salon).

Oh, no. I guess I’ll just keep logging on and rereading this note at the top of my dashboard forever.

(It gives me hope to hear this has maybe happened before, ashmanra…?)

ashmanra

beerandbeancurd – all too many times!

Glad to know it’s not just me having issues! Having to take down handwritten tasting notes for now.

Kaylee

lol same, it was at the top of my page for dayyyyyysssss. I was off Steepster for a multi-year gap, but somehow not having functionality for a week drove me up a wall.

Day 18 of the Teeccino advent calendar. The good news is that this thankfully doesn’t taste like the Chaga Ashwagandha from earlier in the calendar. And I like the maple here, plus it does have a nice coffee-like taste. Where it falls short for me is that it tastes like rather thin coffee compared to the robust brew that the standard Teeccino base produces. Because of that, it works better cold – it’s a good mimic for a lightly sweet cold brew coffee. I just personally prefer something heartier.

I picked up a variety box of Teeccino, and this is one I don’t mind too much. Amaretto is my favorite Teeccino flavor, and it seems a bit sweeter than this one. It has a mild chicory bite to it along with a sweetness from the dates. the maple flavor is lingering in the background, but adds a bit of sweetness to the overall taste. I might drink more of this if Amaretto isn’t available, but I wouldn’t seek it out.

I smell something faintly and pleasantly floral in the liquor. I’m thinking it’s the astragalus.
Dominant flavor notes in the sip are earth and roasted nuts/ barley.
It’s not too sweet, despite the figs and dates, which is fine with me.
I added a bit of milk to it.
I taste maple very slightly in the aftertaste.
It’s kind of a delicate cuppa, and not overly flavorful.
I don’t think I’d buy it again, but it’s definitely drinkable.
