This is a very strong Chamomile tea and if I am being honest my mom always gave me Chamomile tea when I had an upset stomach so maybe its bring up bad memories. I don’t like this tea much at all, very strong Chamomile with rosehip peel. I wish I tasted some of the spearmint or orange flavoring but alas I did not! Thank God this was from a sample pack!

I’ve come down with a cold with all that runny nose, sneezing, stuffy head horribleness. And now, a sore throat is the new development and my taste buds appear to be waning.

It certainly is freezing out there today, record breaking cold apparently for this time of year—yay! When I came in, I most definitely needed to start the teapot.

Initially, I thought that I’d be going directly to bed with my tea, but I changed my mind to dabble a bit online instead first. I added a spoon of black raspberry honey to this for my throat and it is most delicious this way. The citrus chamomile is coming through with an added red berry element from the honey. Highly recommend.

Icky – hope you feel better soon

Evol Ving Ness

Thanks, Dexter. Hopefully, this will be a quick one.

Fjellrev

Oh no, Evol, I hope you feel better soon!

Evol Ving Ness

Thank you, Fjellrev! Things appear to be moving along.

Nattie

Hope you’re feeling better!

Evol Ving Ness

Thank you, Nattie! Happily, this cold came and went rapidly. I attempted to chase it off with tea, honey, rest, and vitamin C.

I steeped this tea for 6 minutes (past experience with this brand has taught me that they are generally weak). It tasted like chamomile with lemon, however I thought it was fairly bitter.

This is a fruity chamomile with a strong lemon flavor. The herbs themselves are quite pretty in the bag, and I see a good mix of chamomile flower heads and petal dust. I’m a fan of chamomile, and I do enjoy this, but there’s too much citrus and not enough chamomile for my tastes. There’s also the rosehip factor. I’m really not a fan of those in any blend, but that’s just me. That said, it’s a quality tisane, and I’d recommend it.

The citrus enhances the chamomile without creating an artificial flavor that so many fruit teas have.

I’ve got an assortment box of Mighty Leaf tea bags that’s just been chilling in the corner of my room for a year or so. I pulled a random one during the middle of this week, because I’m still getting over being sick and I wanted something that would be easy, i.e. teabag.

I’m not the biggest fan of chamomile, given the choice of tisanes, I almost always go for the chrysanthemum. Surprisingly, this tea, while faithful to it’s citrus moniker, is sort of sweet. It’s light on the palate and doesn’t taste too medicinal. Good enough for a mid-break pick me up.

Bright and refreshing, yet soothing. Just had this tea for the first time the other night, as I was suffering from simultaneous bouts of anxiety and cramps. As I sat there trying to decide which tea I should drink before bed, I suddenly remembered that I had purchased a Mighty Leaf sample box a while back – this tea was the one I reached for, and I wasn’t disappointed. Typically, I’m someone who adds sugar, sugar+milk, or honey to every type of tea….with this one I didn’t have to add anything and it still tasted amazing. I will definitely be replenishing my supply when I run out!

My second chamomile citrus tea for the night! I’m going to have to stop telling people I don’t like chamomile at this rate. The scent of the dry tea is intense lemon! and orange! and then some faint chamomile in the background. Brewed, the scent mellows out considerably to a more generic citrus, and I can detect the lemongrass and maybe a hint of the mint. The taste is also quite citrusy, a bit tart (but in a good way – maybe that’s the hibiscus but if so it’s quite subtle) and an interesting blend with orange peel, lemongrass, and lemon myrtle all contributing. I can barely detect the chamomile, which works pretty well for me, but might not be a plus for you chamomile fans out there. :)

This is one of those times where I’m not quite sure what this tastes likes because, as I realize only after having brewed it, I have no idea what chamomile tastes like on its own. I assume floral, but this doesn’t really taste floral to me. I think I taste citrus and the tartness of hibiscus. And that’s kind of it except at the end where I get a very light minty coolness on my tongue. The more sips I take right now, the more I begin to like it. I wasn’t so sure at first. And, by the way, what the heck happened here? I was so sure at the beginning of my tea journey that I 100% did not like lemon or orange flavors….and then I found out that bergamot is a variety of citrus and everything has gone downhill since then. I feel like I’ve been lied to….by my own self….for like a really long time.

Backlog
After 11:59 pm rolled around on Friday night and all my assignments and quizzes and exams were either finished, or past due, and I decided to celebrate the end of D-day (most things due in one day that I’ve ever had).

I add sweetener to teas, so I don’t mind hibiscus in teas because it’s not overly tart with the sweetener.

Sweetened, I quite liked this. Tart in a pleasant way, citrusy, and just overall pretty tasty.
