So, I’m really happy Sil stole a bit of this before passing my half on because it’s good and she liked it, so that’s even better.

This tea is magic! Just pure liquid cool melon, with light (very very light) floral notes. I could see myself drinking TONS of this tea, except I won’t be able to because Lupicia doesn’t ship to Canada.

/sobs/

I was trying to think what I’d had recently that was comparable ,and I think it was Cool Cucumber from DAVIDsTEA, but this is just BETTER. I’m on my second steep now and I might cold-steep it a third time to see if I can get just a little more from those leaves….

Haha you’re. Lucky I didn’t accidentally misplace this one….

TeaLady441

TOTALLY LUCKY.
Please tell me we can arrange a shared order some time! :D

VariaTEA

Cavo, I will probably place an order by the summer and have it sent through my Dad. When I do, I will most likely be back in Toronto so it won’t be too hard to add some things for you :)

TeaLady441

Oooh, that’s great! Thanks!

VariaTEA

No problem. It won’t be for a little while though since I need to get my cupboard controlled. Do you think you can last? :P

Sil

I’ll be ordering from lupicia again….for as long as Sharon doesn’t mind being my tea mule lol

MissB

I’ll be at a Lupicia store in June, and can just buy whatever and ship it direct to you from the US if a teensy wait is okay.

Sil

Nous pouvons toujours attendres madam! Je crois que ca sera plus facile is mon ami l’emporterai ici….

Oh! Mai ca ce peut que je vous emprete d’acheter les thes qui son suelement Vendu dans le magasin! (iPad autocorrect is the worst for French typing lol)

keychange

My god this is one of the best teas ever. if I wasn’t going to Cali this summer, and if the wonderful ifjuly wasn’t sending me some to tide me over in the meantime, I’d crash this group order bigtime! LOL

TeaLady441

OMG. Everyone is all over this Lupicia thing. :O I’m amazed!
And I’m so not ready to order just yet (uhhh, cupboard is over 200… ) but once someone is ready in a few months I’d love to figure something out.

Also, thumbs up to me for deciphering Sil’s french. I’m so rusty but at least I can translate it even if I couldn’t write what she just said.

OMGsrsly

Can I chime in? YES LUPICIA. Chaud les marrons! is AMAZING. I’ve had it hot, cold, plain, with stuff, and have only one cup left. So good.

Sil

I have a feeling that if i can get through some of these small samples to that i don’t have AN ENTIRE BOX FULL OF THEM….outside of my cupboard, I’ll go through all the teas we recently purchased and then start planning another order. Though, that being said, that might not be until May since i’m pretty sure my april order will be damn fine tea..and way over my budget at that lol

TeaLady441

Wheee! So many future orders!!!

cold brewed this to see which i prefer and it’s for sure hot…or maybe hot then cooled. I didn’t mind cold brewing this but on the whole it started to have more of that OOLONG taste that i don’t like, while when this is hot, it’s just delicious melon :)

Now off to play some terra mystica tonight for fun…before i have to work all weekend. BLECH

Iced 8 min or more

I’ll be painting…sigh…

TeaNecromancer

Jealous! Terra Mystica is on my too play list (which is really kinda huge)

Sil

Amanda – it’s a great game even if you only have 2 players. My other half and i played it every day (multiple times) for a week while we were on vacation

If you read my reviews regularly you know I am an Oolong lover so I was very excited by this tea Anna generously sent me. However I like Melon very much so for sure Oolong and Melon should pair perfectly together.

It smells absolutely as it tastes : very strong on the melon aroma, and even very candy-ish.

The green Oolong is really much subtle, the honoured guest in this blend is the melon.
The main point for me is the kind of behaviour of this guest : he talks loud , makes lot of noise and takes finally too much place, almost all the place leaving the poor Oolong hiden under the table whereas he’s already dancing on it…
I am wondering if the flavouring is a natural one, I tend to think it may have some artificial Melon notes.

Anyway, this is a juicy, sweet and pleasant blend and would probably make a very nice iced tea as well. Just wondering if, for an iced tea party the melon would directly dive in the swimming pool while the Oolong would try to find out his sunglasses…I have another sample so to be continued…

Thanks so much Anna for sharing

Oh my god, bringing this to work with me in my carry mug today was probably the best decision I’ve made in like a week. I had my doubts as to whether it would be “viable” in a travel mug, because travel mugs can really stifle many a good tea, but that simply wasn’t the case. I used slightly more than two tsp of leaf for 16 oz of water, added a touch of cream and sugar, and drank what I swear was hot melon juice/milk all morning. I used up the last of what was sent to me by the lovely ifjuly, and am very lucky to still have some left from Nay Lynn!

Anna, you started this addiction of mine! Ifjuly and Nay Lynn, thank you so much for being my suppliers!

Suziqzer

You are braver than I trying a precious tea in a travel mug.. So glad it worked well for you :)

keychange

It’s just confirmation that my travel mug is extremely awesome!! go carry mug!!

CHAroma

This review made me smile. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Suziqzer

Another endorsement for the carry mug! Go keychange!

Sil

i sometimes wonder what other ppl are going with their travel mugs that they have funny tasting teas in them…

keychange

I don’t know-I’ve definitely found that often tea tastes different depending on what you drink it out of. I like the carry mug (and the timolino) because you can smell as you drink.

Sil

fair enough…the smell factor i can get behind :)

Suziqzer

I agree that what you drink tea out of can make a difference in how it tastes. Some teas just taste better if you can smell them too… it’s a whole experience thing.

Cheri

I just gotta break down and spend the money to get the carry mug….. It’s funny. Some things I’m willing to just drop money on, but for whatever reason I’m hesitant on this one and I really want it.

keychange

My carry mug is by far my favourite piece of teawear. May I ask what’s making you hesitate?

Cheri

I don’t know. I think it’s that I don’t want to just buy the carry mug, but I haven’t found any of the teas that are calling to me. (I should go look again and see what I find.)

Cheri

Okay, I did it. I found a couple of teas that I thought sounded good to try and placed the order. Whew.

keychange

Wow!! what colour did you choose? (I really want more colours). And I hope you like it as much as I do!!

Cheri

Ice Blue. I love the color blue. Almost everything I own is blue. Now I’m excited!

keychange

I have it in ice blue also! woohoo!!

CHAroma

I have to drink tea out of glass/ceramic or it tastes funny to me.

This is one of my favorite teas from Lupicia! It smells like melon candy, but tastes a bit more mellow. More like honeydew and cantaloupe. You can really taste the melon in it.

I agree with aug3zimm – this tea is very cantaloupe-y and juicy, and yes, pleasantly weird! :) I think I would like this better as an iced tea, rather than a hot tea, but it’s still very tasty and not too syrupy-sweet.

This is an excellent flavoured tea if you like the taste of canteloupe or honeydew.

Very intense, almost candy-like musk melon scent. The flavor is a little more subtle.

After the success of yesterday’s Pineapple Oolong, I was cautiously hopeful about this one – and it didn’t disappoint all that much. The aroma is great, but the flavour, which is more along the lines of rock melon/honeydew melon rather than watermelon, is more subtle and doesn’t blend quite as well with the oolong tea as the pineapple did. Still not bad at all.
