32 years ago today I met a hot chick at a party our floor threw in the dorm. Honest, I knew I was going to marry her the moment we met. Forgetting we shouldn’t spend the money we went out today and ended up at Max & Ermas for lunch today. Any one know how to make their Tortilla soup? Love that stuff. We also stopped by Empire Tea Services and wifey picked up a decaf something, not sure what, I will review later. Oh yeah, this tea was cold and unsweet and cooled my throat from the soup.

Congratulations on your anniversary!

thanks. We were actually married in May but Halloween has always been special for us.

I can’t drink hot teas still because of my surgery so I thought I would make some of this. This is my first bagged tea since I started with loose leaf a while ago, and man I was surprised. It was so bland and unflavorful, full of chemicals and artificial flavors, and all around bad. Looks like I’m going to have to find a cheap black tea to make iced from now on.

Regular Lipton Tea was a family staple growing up – it’s so cheap to buy and you can add anything to it. It’s hard for me to rate it – all teas in my mind are either better or worse than Lipton. So, when I saw the Lipton Instant Ice tea bags on sale last week, I didn’t hesitate to drop a couple dimes on it. Went to brew my first pitcher and realized there was no hot water required? This confused the hell out of me. I was actually pretty skeptical starting out, but one or two giant tea bags to a pitcher made perfect iced tea in 5 minutes…just add the ice, and a wedge of lemon. Who knew it could be that easy? It’s still Lipton tea, not the best, not the worst – but I’d recommend the iced tea bags solely for the convenience of it.

As expected of what is one of the most famous brands of tea (it seems to me, anyway), Lipton’s tea is delicious. This is black tea, if I’m assuming correctly, and I think it tastes fine warm, but when my friends offer me a glass of ice cold sweet tea, I know why most prefer it served cold.
Just recently I tried it with milk, to reach a childhood dream of mine to be a British princess because reasons, and it also tasted delicious! I’d like to try another brand of black tea, maybe to figure out if this is actually black or some strange brew I’ve never heard of, and perhaps to actually have a proper review to this tea.
I can tell you this: a single pack comes off deliciously strong, but that’s probably because I didn’t use the recommended amount of water, but I’m fine with that. As I said, the milk made it all the better.
Sadly, I can provide little to no actual recommendation, but according to what I’ve seen in the US: Go ahead! This tea is delicious, and popular for that reason.

Probably not a good choice for tea snobs, or anyone who has grown up with real iced tea, but it’ll play in Peoria. Lipton deserves credit for creating (or marketing) am affordable tea that can be brewed cold. It’s not bad, it’s reasonably refreshing, but it’s not really great either.
