mmmmm I love this one.. much, much, better than lime gelato from davids tea.. I find it doesn’t have that creamy, almost curdled taste, that mixes with the pungent green… this one is creamy tasting, but the rooibos enhances it rather than battles it.. I don’t know why companies insist on making lime teas that are greens… this is so much better.. definitely hit the mark :)

Although I ordinarily am not overly fond of rooibos, I figured that might also be due to the fact that previously I’ve only had rather ordinary rooibos blends. So when Dustin and I set up a swap, I took a chance and asked for som rooibos. One of the blends she sent me was this one and it truely tastes great! Thanks Dustin!

The official discription is rather spot on. It really has a “homemade lemon cake”-feel to it. Sweet, fruity and with a tart note, this is a great dessert or normally-I-would-be-having-a-hot-chocolate-tea-moment tea.

So yes, you guessed it, today’s flavor if Lime Chiffon by Della Terra, a delightful mix of Rooibos, Lime Flavors, Lime Pieces and Bits (hehe, bits), Cream Flavors, and Lemongrass. It is certainly a very colorful tea, which I always enjoy. The aroma is distinct, I mean Holy Lime Chiffon, Batman! Did someone steal my leaves and replace them with Lime Chiffon while I was not looking? Richly creamy and delightfully limey (as in limes, not British people) and just decadent. Pardon me I seem to be drooling a bit.

While the agony of the leaf is happening (does that still count with a tisane?) the aroma just fills up the room and makes me incredibly hungry. The steeping leaves manage to smell even more rich, creamy, and limey than the leaves and it is very distracting. The liquid smells very sweet and has a rich earthiness from the Rooibos that plays off the lime really well.

I have Lemongrass apprehension, I really dislike Lemongrass but I have the motto of ‘will try everything’ and have been pleasantly surprised more times than not. Steeling my nerve and taking a sip…and unsurprisingly it tastes exactly like it smells! So much lime dancing with sweet creaminess and a rich earthy undertone. No lemongrass at all, some might say that is bad, but I do not notice it at all (or it might blend so perfectly that it just not stand out.) This tea is very sweet, adding any sweetener to this tea would make it saccharine, it is a true dessert tea. If you close your eyes while drinking it, you can almost taste the crust.

I love this tea. It’s so good and sweet, didn’t need any sugar. Might try it with milk next time but it’s perfect as it is. Nice limey taste. Smells great. It’s been a while since I last had a lime-flavored drink, so busy pursuing bergamot I forget there are other citrus flavors.

I need to try the lemon chiffon.

I definitely like this tea better cool/cold than hot. I just think the flavors come through so much better and it’s truly refreshing. It has that delicious key lime scent and it has a really smooth taste with just the hint of lime.

This is tasty, though I think I expected more from it after reading all the great reviews. It’s basically lime and a creamy taste. Even though it’s a rooibos blend, the rooibos is not really evident in the flavor (great for people that hate rooibos – I happen to like it). I’m curious how it compares to the Lemon Chiffon version. I picked up both as part of a sample pack from a Della Terra order.

All in all good, but it didn’t blow me away.

This is tasty! I think cold-brewed is definitely the way to go, just as many other tasters advocate. If you brew it hot, the rooibos pops out a bit more and you don’t get as much lime dessert flavor. It smells great and citrusy, and the taste honestly reminds me of lime jello, even though it’s been at least 10+ years since I had any. Not a whole lot like jello! Just a little bit.

I’d definitely order this again. So far I’ve had success with rooibos blends from Della Terra, but haven’t been thrilled with anything else. I think the flavourings just might not be for me. ….So does anybody want some Blueberry Crumble, Rabbit’s Garden, or (maybe a few cups worth) Citrus Splash?

I only had enough for one cup…so was a little heavy on the leaf, as it was more than 1 tsp (but not enough for a second serving). I liked this tea…a sweet key lime pie-type tea. I’d drink this again, and glad I got it in a purchase from another Steepsterite.

I do sweeten pretty much all of my teas…I like sweet teas (but not Sweet Tea).

Midnight study session….ughhhh. Since I’m cutting down on sugar I’m substituting my usual Mountain Dew for this.

The dry tea looks very pretty, although more like dried grass/wood bits than tea, which I’m assuming is typical of rooibos. I’m seeing lemongrass and lime skin here, as well as smelling all that citrusy flavor, along with a hint of sweet condensed milk type smell (I’m guessing that is the cream flavoring).
The wet leaves smell really strongly of lime, as does the brew. You can really taste the lime when you drink, but theres also a refreshing, sort of minty? taste and a subtle underlying tone of sweetness. It’s not as tart as I expected. The tea brings to my mind the sort of airy, insubstantial feel one gets when eating chiffon cake.

I’m really impressed with this! Can’t wait to try their other, more well known/liked lemon chiffon.

This is good, not as sweet as I thought it’d be though. The lime flavor comes through clearly, the cream flavor is subtle. I kind of left it because I went to pick up my mom and it got cold but it was still tasty!
