TTB #26

Turmeric is so good for you, I’d love to find a turmeric tea I actually like! Unfortunately, this is not it. It’s super earthy and spicy with strong notes of ginger and turmeric and also a hint of…carrot, I think? I like my tea sweet rather than savory, so this one’s not for me.

Turmeric tea is not my thing, but I got this as part of a sampler, so I figured I’d try it. Hot, it’s not bad. The citrus mixes with the turmeric so the first flavor is fruitiness and the next is a spicy, earthy warmth. Not my favorite, but it’s okay. The next day, it tasted a bit weird, so definitely drink it all at once. And the rebrew was mostly just the turmeric. Anyway, I think health teas are silly, so I’m not the demographic for this tea, but it’s fine for what it is.

I LOVE this tea! Tried it hot in my clear glass mug and it was so pretty! It is very sweet, but I liked it that way and the ingredients just complimented each other so well. There is also a light spiciness at the end of the sip. The only negative thing is that there was also lots of “dusty ingredient stuff” at the bottom of my cup so I could not finish the last of it as it was so spicy.Decided to try it as an iced latte after and it is a beautiful orange creamsicle color and tastes amazing that way too! I am going to have to stock up on this one I think!

In-store sample. One of my favoured ones now that they seem to be trotting out the most recent collection on a daily basis.

Kind of a sweet after taste that I suppose is what I should have expected from a tea with carrots in it. Didn’t really taste many of the other flavorings in it besides the ginger (which was nice). Not really for me.

I wasn’t planning on trying this tea, as it didn’t sound too interesting to me. But after Ginger Beer was discontinued, I’ve been working my way through all of David’s other teas with ginger in them to find something similar with no real luck since most of them are straight up ginger with no fruit or sweetness to balance it out. Then I smelled this one and its about the most decent replacement I’ve found so far, mixing sweet fruitiness with a bit of warmth from the turmeric/ginger. I do need to steep it a little longer than suggested otherwise there isn’t much noticeable spice, but once I do its really nice. Perfect for winter to warm you up or if you are feeling under the weather.

Meh. Why is it so sweet?
I’m getting mostly ginger and pineapple and sweetness. A bit of an earthy undertone. It’s not terrible, but it’s not really doing it for me. I’d almost suspect it of having some sort of sweetener added… I know it doesn’t have stevia because that always tastes terribly bitter to me, but there’s a bit of a weird aftertaste.

Blackberry leaves are surprisingly sweet. And maybe the pineapple is candied?

I received a sample pack of Turmeric Glow with my most recent order from DAVIDs. It’s an interesting combination of ingredients – pineapple, carrots and blackberry leaves with ginger and turmeric. Ginger is the most prominent note in the tea’s aroma both brewed and in the packet. I find despite the pretty rose colour to the tea that I don’t taste much besides some sweet pineapple and spicy ginger notes. I’m not really liking that combination. I enjoy ginger by itself, like in the Super Ginger tea by DAVIDs, but the sweetness mixed in with this just doesn’t compliment it at all. As for the namesake of the tea, I find turmeric strangely absent/overshadowed by the ginger.

Oh weird, I would have expected the Turmeric to be ultra strong in this one.

It surprised me too. Maybe the sample pack didn’t have the right ratio of ingredients.

tried this one at the tea festival today. It’s not bad but i wanted more ginger and a little less sweet. One of the other vendors has something similar and it was not only less expensive than david’s but tastier lol. So not one i need to get but it wasn’t terribad.
