I was really let down by half of the Summer Collection this year to be perfectly honest. But this tea is one from the collection that really shines, the other being Strawberry Colada. This really reminds me of one of my favourite green tea’s Toasted Walnut, very very similar in taste (I’m pretty sure it’s the coconut), it really tastes like a mix of Coconut creamsicle and really good quality coconut water. The flavour comes through, the honeybush adds a punch, and there’s a light creaminess to it. If it was a bit more stronger, it’d definitely be a 90+ score for me, but it’s a definite restock and I’m really happy with it!

P.S. It’s great to sweeten with Hazelnut agave, or sugar-free Hazelnut syrup from Starbucks with your choice of sweetner/sugar/honey. :]

Sipdown from this morning. It’s so hot in the house today, seeing that it’s in the mid-20s outside, so I chugged that 1 litre like no one’s business while trying to make ten thousand steps before allowing myself to have breakfast. This was a nice, smooth, coconut blend with the slightest hint of chocolate. It’s one that I wouldn’t mind drinking again but not sure if I’d go out of my way to get more before it’s gone.

2400 to go, so I need to get cracking because I’m hungry!

Ah DAVIDsTEA, your love of coconut is so predictable. I’m pretty sure no one was surprised by the inclusion of an obviously coconut focused blend this season. What did surprise me, however, was the classification of this tea. It’s got honeybush listed as the first ingredient which to me says that it’s the ingredient in the largest quantity and yet this is still listed as a herbal/tisane and not classed as a rooibos/honeybush blend? That confuses me a lot. I’d really like a break down of the thought process that took place here.

Also surprisingly, I had the perfect excuse to do a cold brew for this one and instead I found myself brewing it up as a hot tea! It was alright; the most dominant flavor was the honeybush which again begs the question ‘why did you class this as a herbal!?" but it was pretty equally matched by the strong flavour of both fresh coconut and toasted coconut. I actually did expect a little more coconut flavor because DT had the biggest excuse to go all out here, but I’m happy with the level that’s present. Yummy! It definitely reminds me of coconut ice, minus the ice part. But the crisp, fresh flavor is really well conveyed.

Also, COCOA SHELLS! I’m really happy that DT hopped on board with the love of cocoa shells here because they do such a better job at conveying a smooth chocolate flavour than chocolate chips would have done; plus no oily chocolate goop! Their use here was definitely a smart decision, though I did find the flavour mild in comparison to everything else going on and I don’t know if the blend would have been lacking had chocolate not been included at all. I think they contribute more to the aroma than the taste itself.

I liked this one; probably would have liked it better cold but I wanted to switch things up a bit and be less predictable with my preparation. I’m sure I’ll happily finish off the rest of my trial sample though I do doubt I’ll pick more up afterwards because while this was tasty I just don’t think it was different enough to warrant a need for me. Coconut lover will be all over this one, though. I’m sure it’s gonna do really well.

No oily chocolate goop is definitely a plus!

Got a free sample of this in my latest order, which was a nice surprise. I’ve been wondering what this tea is all about, but didn’t want to invest in a whole pack. I tried it both hot and iced, and iced is definitely better. The bulk of this tea is honeybush chocolate and huge coconut chips; hot, the coconut is a bit greasy but buttery and rich, while the honeybush takes a bit of a backseat. This tea makes more sense cold, as the low temps go better with the tropical vibe and the honeybush chocolate makes it sweet without sugar. I don’t go for teas with milk and sugar, but I bet this would be an absolute killer late.

Grabbed this at the airport as I wait to board a plain to Europe. It’s sweet, crisp, and refreshing. Honestly, a coconut ice lolly is captured perfectly and I will definitely be grabbing more of this when I return home. Hopefully it’s still around :S

I like it too. I’ve made iced lattes with it a few times. Pretty good either way, and lovely to like a caffeine free blend. Have a great trip!

I’m not too sure what to say about this one. It is not bad, but I’m not thrilled with it either. It is just okay for me. I am glad that I tried it, but would not pick up any more. I had it both hot and iced. And it was fine. If you are looking for a basic coconut tea, this one is for you. I think I much prefer the teas with coconut mixed with other ingredients – like Chocolate Macaroon, Salted Caramel, Fantasy Island, and Toasted Walnut. But that’s just me.

Bought 25 grams of this tea to try out iced. I brewed the full 25grams in 2L of 200 degree (F) water for about 20-30 min and let it cool off in the fridge.

Wow this is quite different; and good.

Unlike the other iced teas from DAVIDs, this one is not super fruity or hibiscus-y. This instead is equal parts honeybush and coconut flavoured and tastes really good and refreshing. Kudos for DAVIDs for trying a different kind of summer tea-it works really well.

This was a pleasant surprise! I’m not a huge lover of the coconut teas from DT (Coconut Oolong being the exception), but I had this iced today and it was pretty good! I think, if I ever have it again, to add some milk – this would be delicious as an iced latte! Also, I have to give it props for being organic!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS TEA
Okay, so coconut ice cream is one of my favorite kinds of ice cream. My mom gave me some of this to try and, having it cold, my first thought was “mmmm coconut ice cream!”. Then I read the description of it and that’s how the flavor is described! Love how accurate this is.

This is the first coconut tea I have really been a fan of from David’s Tea. Some teas with coconut in them are okay (Gold Rush), but others are just not okay at all (Cocomint Cream). I really love this tea though! I will definitely be stocking up on this so that I can have a permanent stash this summer!
