From DAVIDsTEA

How it tastes
This is our peachiest tea ever – it tastes just like a ripe juicy peach!

It took us years to find the perfect peach iced tea – but this sweet, summery infusion is so peachy, it tastes like it’s fresh from the orchard. It’s amazing blended with frozen strawberries and white rum. Or served chilled with a splash of Prosecco. But our favorite way to drink it is straight up with a touch of agave. Hot or iced, this blend is a real peach.

What makes it great
• One of the best iced teas of all time!
• Makes an amazing base for your favorite fruity cocktails.

Ingredients:
Apple, Apple pomace (apple pomace, citric acid), Artificial peach flavouring, Sweet blackberry leaves, Peach (peach, sugar), Natural sweet blackberry leaf flavouring, Artificial apricot flavouring.

Sipdown! 194/365!

This tea tastes just like fuzzy peaches, complete with the sweetness. It’s actually a bit too sweet, to be honest, although at least the sweetness doesn’t linger quite as badly as stevia. Although I quite like fuzzy peaches, I’m not sure I want to be drinking them, though in the right mood maybe it would be perfect! I have a bit more; might try it iced.

Peach iced tea is so refreshing, so I picked up two oz of this tea with that in mind. The first day, I tried a mug hot, and it was plenty good, but I could picture how much better it would be cold. It smells a lot like David’s other peach flavored teas, but I think I like this one more. Cold, it’s so peachy and sweet. I actually had to add in a little water because it was too strong at first. Anyway, I look forward to making a nice big pitcher or two of this to have cold one day soon.

By the smell of this tea, I really thought it would be a lot better than it actually is. I was dumb and added sugar before tasting, so I may have taken out the tartness by doing that… tartness is what I like and I found this one to be lacking. I found it smelled better than it tasted… to me I was getting a weird flavor… almost chemically. I may have also steeped too long. Next time I’ll try it straight and steep it for the recommended time.
I will update the score next time, as I scored it quite low today!

So I’m not a huge fan of peach herbals because they mostly just rely on apple pieces for the entirety of the blend (I’m looking at you, Peach Bellini from Adagio…)

So I was pleasantly surprised that this actually has some leaves in it. According to the ingredients, it contains sweet blackberry leaves. There’s also a ton of apples, but hey, I guess I should have expected that. Looks like the smell comes straight from the “natural” and “artificial” flavoring, versus what’s actually in the tea, because this smells EXACTLY like peach gummy rings.

When brewing, the color comes out to a pale brownish/orangeish hue. Still smelling like peach candy. I can attest to the fact that the flavor matches the smell 100%. There’s a slight tartness as well, which adds more depth to the flavor, and I can detect some herbal notes from the blackberry leaves.

Overall, this is a pleasant tea but I would ONLY recommend if you like the way peach gummy rings taste. Because this is basically peach rings in tea form. You’ll be severely disappointed if you’re looking for a natural peach flavor…this is definitely an artificial one.

But hey, I’m not complaining. I love me some peach rings.

Hmm, another melange. I’m usually disappointed when I get a caffeine free tea in my Sips By box, but lately I’ve picked up the habit of making a cup at night.

The scent of this when it’s dry is exactly like peach Nehi. Or those cheap peach gummy rings you get at gas stations. And the taste isn’t different, really, aside from a tartness I had not expected. It’s just very candylike. Look, I’m from Georgia, I know what a peach is supposed to taste like.

That said, it’s not bad. If you don’t mind it tasting like a Jolly Rancher or something, it’s kind of tasty. I’ll enjoy finishing the sample.

They’re doing David’s Tea in Sips By now? That seems… odd?

Yeah, my friend got their S’mores Chai in his.

My favorite iced tea I’ve tried yet – just unsweetened peachy goodness. I do wish it was stronger: I cold-steeped for 24 hours and it’s fine. Next time I guess I’m throwing half the tin in. Will drink heaps and heaps of this!

I was out of town last weekend. My childhood best friend’s husband died and I went to the memorial service. I’m glad I went to be there with her. But that’s why I didn’t do my usual tasting notes last weekend.

Looking forward to getting some new teas tasted and logged this weekend.

I may have gone overboard with the peach fruit blends. I seem to have a ton of them now, as well as a ton of orange ones. But vive la difference! It’s fun to have a number of teas in the same general flavor profile to explore the differences. Which is why my goal of clearing out my cupboard is unlikely to be completely realistic. While I don’t think I need 10 peach herbals, I do think having only one would be boring. Maybe 3 is the right number. Maybe 1 is the right number for other things, like lapsangs and five is the right number for jasmine greens, since I love them so much. Anyway, something to ponder.

Very solid peach smell coming from the packet. The mix looks a bit like Grapenuts to me. I haven’t thought about those in a long time.

The aroma of the steeped blend is pure peach, down to the stony pit note. The color is the color of the inside of a ripe peach — a strong, dark yellow, that’s somewhat cloudy but not completely opaque.

The flavor is sweet with a touch of tart as well. I haven’t had the fuzzy peach candy others have compared this to, but I don’t find this artificial tasting as some have said. The touch of tart keeps it from that for me — without the tart, I’d find this candy-like and it’s hard to imagine a peach candy that wouldn’t taste artificial. As it is, I quite like this.

Interesting concept about how many of each type that you like you should have. Something for me to consider as I make progress sipping down things that I don’t love as much.

Yeah, I don’t think I’d set a hard and fast rule. But I know from experience there are things I drink a lot and things I only drink a few times a year left to my own devices.

In-store sample. It boggles my mind that in-store samples vary so much. While the peach here was toned down, the imitation flavour came through loud and clear.

Indigobloom

I hate that too. It doesn’t give an accurate impression of what you’d be buying!

Lexie Aleah

You have some of this at home right> Have you tried making it as a Teapop?

Evol Ving Ness

No, I haven’t. Is it life-changing?

Lexie Aleah

It’s the only way I’ve ever had it before. Nothing I’d order from the store, but a good way to use it up if you have a bag of it sitting around.

Tastes more like a child’s apple juice than peach to me, and has a plasticy/clean aftertaste that I didn’t love.

I can see why people really like this one. It’s ultra peachy, like peach juice, although on the artificial side, and it’s quite sweet too. Takes me back to when my parents used to buy this big jug of peach cocktail from Costco during the summer months. I would probably enjoy it more if I were to combine it with a straight black tea to give this a little more depth and cut the sweetness. But it’s a fun, juicy blend.

Speaking of that, I finished my last yellow peach yesterday so I should check at the grocery store today if I can get more nice ones before they are out of season. They’re my favourite summer fruit! White peaches don’t hold a candle to them.
