From DAVIDsTEA

Secret of the opera

When Pavarotti needed to ease a sore throat, he called for tea. Some say it was hot. Others swear it was cold. We think he probably drank it both ways. And that he would have loved this tisane. It’s packed with licorice, chamomile, rosehip, orange peel and peppermint, as well as delicious goji berries. Perfect hot or iced. Caffeine free. (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Licorice root, chamomile, rosehips, orange peel, peppermint, goji berries.

Feeling a bit under the weather today. At first I taste chamomile, nice and creamy, with a touch of mint. Then I can taste the rose hips and just a hint of orange. I am very happy I don’t taste the licorice, I hate licorice. I really like this tea, definitely the first tea I grab when I don’t feel well.

Got a cold or sore throat?? Then you have to try this tea. Actually soothing as you drink it. Very tasty as well, just the right amount of sweetness.

We played softball all weekend. I was well behaved yesterday and didn’t yell too much but today was a different story. We made the semi-final and I did yell (cheer, encourage) my teammates a fair amount. We won that game 16 to 1. That placed us in the final against a team we have had issues with in the past. Well that just meant that my yelling was upped a notch. We won the game 10 to 6 to take teh championship for our division. Lots of fun but I am paying for it now with a sore knee, achilles tendon and my throat is killing me. I may not have a voice tomorrow. Hopefully drinking this tea will help that. Especially because our other league’s tournament is next weekend. :)

The licorice is a little overpowering but tonight that is ok with me. It gives it some nice sweetness. And the chamomile is definately a background flavour to it which is enjoyable for me because I like chamomile tea but find it doesn’t mix well that often with other things. And the chamomile seems to be working because I can’t keep my eyes open. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to talk after having this. I am looking forward to using this tea in the winter during cold season.

So I went to David’s Tea quickly yesterday as I was in the mall and returning stuff. I decided a quick stop in DT before heading home would make my day. I got a tea to go and saw the samples. I already know what Chocolate Chili Chai tastes like, so I went for the Bravissimo, excited to try a new flavour. I think it’s safe to say that it is not my cup of tea. It tasted like licorice, which I usually like, but there was another flavour in there that just made me say ewww gross. So I ended up not finishing the sample.

This has turned into one of my favorite teas recently. I don’t like chamomile. When i first tried this tea it was sweet, and it made my mouth feel funny. (like too much throat lozenges, kinda made my mouth slippery) which was fun. but kinda weird. Then i tried this when i was getting a cold. AHH! what a relief! There is a lot of flavor which can be a bit much when you aren’t sick, but when your senses are muted by sickness-coming and you want your throat to feel awesome, this does just that. So delicious if you like licorice, and i highly, highly recommend this for those sickies. and oh, and when i’m not sick- i have this iced for caffeine-free-hydration :)

sore throat miracle cure. i love this tea so hard, it’s literally a miracle cure for my throat. i basically talk all day everyday and often start to get very very croaky. if i make one of these when i leave work and sip it while waiting for/on the bus, my throat feels fine by the time I get home. seriously wonderful.

I’ve been feeling under the weather, and my throat is really hurting me. I tried to decide which tea would be the most helpful, and Bravissimo is the first that came to mind.

I’ve had 4 cups of it so far, and it is very soothing. I don’t expect miracles out of it, but it tastes good and is helping me to stay hydrated.

This is one of the most unique teas I’ve tasted yet. Surprisingly, I always seem to make it and avoid the licorice… What I usually get is a very gentle tasting tea, that once you swallow it, it comes back with a very cool and refreshing sweet peppermint taste. One of my favorite teas to drink as is.

Doing a tasting note solely because I did taste in, and then proceeded to decide it wasn’t for me. One thing I’ve decided as I finish up the wall is that I am so not a fan of the licorice teas. That’s all I can taste in them, despite all the other ingredients. Not rating since it isn’t fair to the tea.

I am getting sick and it always starts with the throat and works its way up to a full blown cold, sigh….
I got this as a cup to go today and the taste is well….bleh, I can handle it and I can see it as something I get used to however, I just hate licorice :( However, I can overlook the oh so horrible taste because it helped my throat so much. I usually will have a lozenge and sip on some sort of tea, gurgle some salt water, suck on ginger and it’ll feel better for a good hour or two before I have to do it again. But timing how long it took my throat to hurt again is from 6:30 till 1 am (I know I should be getting rest but I have an exam tomorrow, boo) That’s a record and I think this will be my new sicky tea. My boyfriend describes the taste as “something that you know is supposed to be good for you”. It’s great at what it does.
