10oz from a tea for one pot/mug set.

I was surprised by just how much I like this tea, especially considering my initial impressions. The nose is a bit floral but once brewed has distinct notes of a lemon cough lozenge or syrup. It’s not off-putting by any means, despite what may be your initial reaction. More so, those notes offer a sense of comfort if you are feeling down, this tea is a great companion if you feel stuffy or sick. I can tell already.

This lozenge scent turns into an inviting bouquet similar more to boiled sweets than a medicinal chemically-laden concoction.
The taste is much smoother than the smell leads on, don’t judge this cup from the surface. At first sip it yields into a warm mixture of lemongrass, rosehips, and lemon verbena with just enough tangy bite on the finish.

You aren’t biting into a lemon, but rather enjoying a delightful herbal infusion with real health benefits from Vitamin C when steeped to their recommendation.

I would stock this as a wind-down cup or for those who enjoy the thought of tea but not the tannin associated with black or strong green tea leaves. It’s very good for boxed/bagged/commercial.

I was craving lemon last night and I had this ancient teabag from a teabox around. A good a time as any! I didn’t think this was too bad. Plenty of lemon that I could tell was from different lemon elements. I noticed the sweeter lemon verbena flavor. There was a hint of hibiscus which didn’t really hurt this blend, it gave it another layer of sour. haha. I didn’t notice any of the mint that was mentioned… I didn’t really want mint in this anyway. Not bad. I think Bigelow tends to be the grocery store teabag brand of choice for me… other than Numi maybe.

Nice mint flavor goes well with the lemon. A wonderful pairing with chicken and plain white cake
Good enough for me to keep in my “If its on sale, get it” collection

I just had a personal taste test comparing this to CS Lemon Zinger. Whoa—while this tea may be named “I Love Lemon”, I’m afraid it can’t hold a candle to Celestial Seasonings’ “Lemon Zinger”. I still like this, but it’s just not as intensely lemony. I gave this a “90” my first rating here, but after having experienced the Lemon Zinger, I downgraded this to an “80”. Still like this, would still recommend it, but with the proviso it’s for those who prefer less acidity, less intensity.

Another teabag finished up yesterday! This one I had with lunch and I drank it cold brewed with a bit of sugar.

The lemon flavour is bright and citrusy, quite strong (especially for a teabag that is probably 5+ years old). Cheery! I think, quite fitting for spring. I can taste some herbs in there in the mint family, maybe verbena or catnip. Very faint mint. The hibiscus gives the brew a pink colour, which is neat. Overall I found it too sour and added ~ 1tsp sugar to my mug (~450 mL) for balance. I imagine maple syrup or simple sugar syrup would be even better.

Second steep was a bit less acidic but had more of the lemon zest bitterness to it (faintly, not in a bad way). I think there is another citrus in there (maybe grapefruit?) and I get a bit more of the herbs. This steep was longer so more hibiscus sour also came out. I countered with a dash of sugar.

Depth of flavour and potency 10/10 (strong even in breif steeps)
Mouthfeel 8/10
Fragrance 8/10
Sweetness 0/10 (sour)
Overall rating Great lemonade type iced tea but tends to be too acidic for me

This was an excellent herbal tea. It was really smooth and lemony without the tart.

Tried this one at work today. It wasn’t as bad as some other Bigelow blends I’ve tried, but I still wasn’t a fan. It’s very tart and slightly floral, thanks to the hibiscus (which also makes it a bright pink color). However, the lemon flavor itself isn’t the worst I’ve had; it’s fairly natural and not overly aggressive. I wouldn’t buy this one, but I’d drink it again if there weren’t any better options available.

Awww. Sorry this wasn’t a hit for you. I spent a lot of time trying to find a lemon I liked better from a bunch of companies across the price spectrum and never found one I liked better.

Stash’s Meyer Lemon is pretty good.

Inkling

@ Morgana If there’s one thing I’ve learned on my journey with tea, it’s that tastes are super subjective! Time and again I’ve shared a tea I LOVED with a friend and found they didn’t care for it. This one wasn’t a hit for me, but glad you like it. :)

@ rosebudmelissa Thanks for the tip!

You know that feeling when you just might be getting a cold and want to ward it off? Yeah, that’s where I am today. That time of year and all. So, vitamin C is a good thing, and this tea professes to be a good source of such.
It’s tart and lemony. Not bite-into-lemon-curd lemony, but pleasantly tart-sour nonetheless. I definitely think I’d have this again, though I will say that I’m a fan of lemon tea in general, so it’s not too surprising. But, especially if this delivers the vitamin C boost it promises, I really can’t say no.
