This was a free single serving sample I redeemed with my Adagio order.

Honestly, tastes very similar to their other nutty rooibos, Nutcracker or something? I don’t taste chocolate at all, and the caramel is subtle. Mostly it tastes like a sweet nut-flavored tea. I would guess hazelnut or chestnut, nothing about it says pecan to me.

Not a favorite for me, too sweet and rich and I find it a bit cloying. Then again, I don’t seem to love very desserty teas these days…

Not bad for Rooibos. Normally I find them bland but this one had a bit more flavor

Day 8 of Advent Calendar – Adagio

I am so behind on my Adagio Advent by a few days, but this one is actually for the 8th day. Have some behind to do.

This one isn’t bad at all. It’s sweet, nutty, strong, warming. I accidentally got some floating leaves in there thanks to lazily putting it together. I found a mini baby white chip which was strangely adorable.

One of my preferred so far from the calendar. Have some chai to catch up on from their previous days as well, will try to catch up on those later today.

I did pour out half the water from the large cup so mine may be stronger. The sample didn’t contain much tea in this particular bag really, and didn’t want it weakened because of the water ratio. Didn’t need any additives or sugar.

Adagio Advent 5, a subtle chocolate nutty candy blend. I got a hint of cocoa but mostly the rooibos. It was fine, not one I’m going to repurchase.

The first try out of the bag on this one was really bad. It was sour and muddled and honestly kind of gross. It was a brand new sample so I can’t really determine if the ingredients were bad or it was just a bad blend. I honestly want to toss it out after that first experience.

The chocolate/nutty flavors are pretty subtle in this blend, I taste rooibos more than anything else and not a huge rooibos fan. Just ok, WNRP

Adagio let me choose four samples for free to try. They have a limited selection of single size samples but I did notice that they added some new ones.
Unfortunately, this one just tasted like a plain rooibos and didn’t live up to the name.

This was pretty good, though first steeping did have an odd chocolate flavor. One thing though, if you don’t like rooibos, you won’t like this as the rooibos flavor is still strong. That being said that was a nice dessert blend. Sweet flavors from the chocolate and caramel, and some warm nutty notes; maybe from the chicory? The After the first few steepings I poured in boiling water in my tea pot and let it brew overnight. Had a nice cinnamony cup in the morning. Though the cinnamony wasn’t as detectable in the early steepings. Overall a nice blend, that I’m glad I got to try, but I don’t feel like buying more.

p.s. I did add sugar to my cup.

Chocolate teas rarely win me over. They always seem thin and disappointing. This tea, I must say, is completely awesome. The tea seems thick because it’s so full of desserty flavor. The chocolate and pecan come through so clearly. The rooibos is just a supporting background player that you don’t really notice. I had to drink this one slowly, letting each sip linger for a long time because the flavor really sticks around. This is one of the best dessert teas I’ve ever had, and definitely one of my Adagio favorites.
